[QUOTE="Liberator72"]For all those asking how long it will take, firstly it downloads a small update which is essntially the new dashboard. It's only 7mb so it takes litteraly a few seconds. Then your console will restart and download another larger update. The preview program update was approx 180mb but this could become larger if they add anything else to it tomorrow which I fully expect them to. Meaning all of us that are in the preview will probably have to apply another smaller update tomorrow too. Anyway, based on my connection, which is 15MB download speed, it took 4 mins 38 secs to download, apply and reboot to the intro screen. Yes I did time it just to see how long it took.XxSTILL_BORNxX

It could just be issues with the transition over to the new dashboard. Server maintenance has been taking place and since Iinstalledthe update(from the preview program) I've had severe lag issues. Expect it to be back to normal next week

[QUOTE="Liberator72"][QUOTE="henriktx"]Dont understand why mine got locked but i appreciate you putting credit in there :D. But anyways any one get some major lag after installing the preview for the new xbox experience? Because I can not play Gears of War 2 with this lag. My shotgun lags like 10 seconds and Ive had perfect connections before and I do have a reliable ISP. So anyone get a new experience with lag? Haha i made a pun :Ptnargus

Yeah I think I mentioned this earlier in your old thread. BTW what the hell happened to that? Anyway, I've had terrible lag playing COD4 since updating. Private chat and Video chat don't work with anyone not using the new dashboard either. I think its just a problem between the 2 different versions of the dashboard, maybe we are going through different servers or something I'm not sure. Hopefully it will all re sorted tomorrow when everyone has it. And before anyone says it's my connection, I have 15MB cable broadband, with an upload speed of over 1.5 MB. It's always been stable, my router is configured and my NAT is open. Before the update I never had problems finding or hosting games.

Yeah unfortunately i think there are going to be some transition issues. I'm not sure about the crush when everyone is trying to download, but things like lag, incompatibilities, program errors, i tink it'll all happen for about a week.

Not sure it will take a week but I agree to an extent. They've been upgrading the servers for quite some time now in anticipation for this

Just plug directly into your router with a wired connection. you cant beat it. Even if you're a long way from the router with your xbox you can pick up long ethernet cables for really cheap. And remember to configure your router for xbox live.Even if your NAT is open configuring your router can really make a difference.

I just noticed something. I dont know if its just me or what but once you have less than 8gb (i think thats what it said) no matter the disk size you are trying to install, it wouldnt allow you.Tjeremiah1988
That will be because you need some space reseved for streaming games to the cache. I can kinda understand it but its gotta be annoying seeing as the 20gb hard drive only comes with just over 13gb free space in the first place. You're not really getting what they say you are. Now you see why they released to 60gb Pro bundle. I'm ok with my Elite though
