Too many people trying to make a living off of retro games. Resellers try to pick our flea markets clean, but if you get there early enough I can usually find something before they do. Goodwills are god awful and Salvation Army sometimes has a few things. I'm hoping once people shift their attention to the PS4 and Xbox One the prices will get a bit better on the retro stuff. Alot of people trying to sell off their retro stuff so they can afford the new systems.

Just started collecting for the SNES system again this summer. Still had some decent titles from 20 years ago so I didn't have to start from scratch. I think its the only console that I will even attempt getting a complete collection. It will be tough but I look at it as a life long goal and not something that needs to be done in a few years. I think I'm about half way through Legend of Zelda: Link to the past. Got Final Fantasy 2 and 3 coming in the mail so I'm excited to finally get to play those two games. Probably going to go on a GTA5 binge in two weeks, but after that finish some more SNES adventures. WHo here has the biggest collection right now? Anyone over 100 yet?

Sold some stuff that I didn't need and had enough money to either get a lower priced Chrono Trigger (SNES) or 3-4 lower priced rpg games. So after looking over my options I went a head and ordered the following...

  • Final Fantasy II (SNES) $26
  • Final Fantasy III (SNES) $30
  • Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (SNES) $2.50
  • Aero The Acrobat (SNES) $1

Couldn't resist FF3 anymore and had to get it. Really wanted Chrono Trigger but most of the auctions were just out of price range for what i had available. There were a couple rough shape games, but I like my better games to be in good shape so I passed and got the FF games in really good shape. If Grand Theft Auto 5 wasn't coming out soon I would spend more on the classics, but that is the one new game I can't wait to play.

For some reason I keep finding N64's with two controllers for only $10. Weird. Anyways, here is the today's finds.

  • N64 with two controllers (of course) = $10
  • Bubble Bobble (NES) = $2
  • Pokemon Snap (N64) = $2
  • Wave Race 64 (N64) = $2
  • Mortal Kombat 4 (N64) = $2
  • Turok 2 Seeds of Evil (N64) = $2
  • Kiler Instinct Gold (N64) = $2
  • 2 x Star Wars Shadows of the Empire (N64) = $2, $1

Almost bought a Dana Scully (X-Files) figurine in box for $4, but didn't. Still regret not getting it. So how was your Saturdays?

If it wasn't for GTA5 I wouldn't even bother picking up any new games until the PS4 comes out, but I've been waiting for that game ever since I was let down by GTA4. If you can have everything paid off then that is the way to go. Next-gen gaming isn't cheap.

Not a bad Saturday....

  • Mario All-stars complete in box (SNES) $5
  • Killer Instinct with manual (SNES) $5
  • DK Country 3 (SNES) $5
  • Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness (GC) $3
  • N64 system with 2 controllers $10

Very nice, where did you get such good deals? I always miss the garage sale deals since I usually wake up at like 10 or 11 on Saturdays and all the good stuff is gone already.

We have about 4 flea markets that go on Saturday and Sundays, but I had been getting there at 9 a.m. and only finding something good once in a while. We got a lot of resellers in our area and they try to get a jump on thigs early. So I woke up at 6:30 a.m. and got there by 7:30 a.m. for the first time and happen to get there before anyone else looking for games or systems. Pretty much its the whole "Early Bird gets the Worm" tactic and it paid off. 30 Minutes later and I would've missed on most of the games and maybe the system too. Good luck to you.

I enjoyed FF3 (actually FF6) more than 2 (actually FF4).  They are both awesome games, but FF6 had more customization, a better and more original story and a better cast of characters.  But like I said FF2 is still an awesome game... Just much more traditional and less original.

So is FF3 (6) worth the $45 price tag?

45 bucks? Think they're either $5 or $10 on PSN....

Yeah, thats a great price to be able to play them but I collect the SNES games and play them too. Got kind of a bucket list going where I told myself I will play all the games I couldn't afford on the SNES when I was younger. Trying to pick up all the good games I missed. My small collection from years ago wasn't too good since most of my relatives kept buying me sports titles or movie themed games like Terminator 2.
