I just sent in my second 360 because it was having freezing problems. My first one got the RROD within a month of getting it when I got it back in January. This one lasted me a little over 8 months. I'm hoping the refurb I get back will work fine.
I know that the 3 year warranty only covers the RROD and my one year warranty will be up in a few months. I know that the RROD is a huge problem, but I'm scared that after my 1 year warranty is over with that my 360 will experience disc read error problems and disc drive problems. I didn't experience this on my fisrt 2 consoles, but I've heard that disc drive problems and DRE's are the new RROD. Is it really that common of a problem? I'm hoping for a console made recently that's built better, but I'm still scared that after this 1 year is up that I will experience something like this that is not a RROD problem that MS won't fix for free.
How common are problems such as these? Obviously if I get the RROD within the 3 years I can of course send it in, but what are the chances I get problems that I was talking about?
I called MS a few days ago because my console would freeze after a few minutes of turning it on everytime I would turn it on and they are sending me the coffin to send it in. The system lasted me a little over 8 months. I have questions though. What causes the freezing? Could it be the power supply and not the system? I'm just scared that I'm sending my system in and it might not be the system.
Anyone have any information to share on this? I just want to know what could've caused this freezing.
I'm going out to get a new PC game tomorrow because I have a new PC. I didn't get it for gaming, but it has pretty good specs and I thought I would take advantage of that. Here are the specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.67 GHZ Processor Nvidia Geforce 8400GS 4 Gigs of RAM
It's a 64-bit Vista system. I'm basically a noob to PC gaming, so can anyone recommend me a couple games I can choose from that my PC can handle? I love shooters, RPG's (I quit WoW a long time ago...not a ton of time to play it anymore), and RPG's, but especially shooters. Any suggestions?
Alright, thanks. I just hope that the system I get doesn't overheat, get the RROD, or have any disk drive problems since those seem to be the most common problems. I just want a system that works flawlessly.
