@HarlemVIP: You're about as irritable as a guy who had his dang doodle, grabbed by a chick waved at and then put back...so Id say mission accomplished Sony.

@Louis: Yeah the trailer shows a lot actually for a teaser. You can see the goo taking him over at the very end of the trialer, its crawling up his neck. You also get to see the space ship, so its definitely an Alien movie, the goo is in containment so lets add creepy government or corporate interference. Same guy is present during the alarms, so there was a breach in containment, and its implied the goo hitched a ride on the main character...since hes pretty much running away the whole time. Which culminates with it taking him over completely at the end. Looks very intriguing to me.

@ltjohnnyrico: The last Jedi literally set it up that Kylo and Rey are the same strength. They ripped the lightsaber in half, and battled to a draw. they are the same. Which means there is no challenge to Rey's power. a power in which she only got simply because the story needed her to have it. She didnt inherit it from anyone special, so I cant even suspend my disbelief with that rationalization. She is a nobody who is amazingly powerful for no reason other than she needs to be, that is NOT good story telling. Its boring. Everything about Rey is incredibly boring. The best moments of the film were pretty much everything without Rey in it. Finn almost dying, The Resistance facing hopelessness. Real challenges, real edge of the seat last minute save the day action. THe only interesting thing that happened with Rey was resolved not by her own doing, and then became immediately Cliche, safe, and boring yet again.

@ltjohnnyrico: Daisy Ridley is awesome. Her character is just poorly written. Luke EARNED his powers. he had to learn painful lessons during his journey which made him into a powerful Jedi. He was trained by one of the greatest jedi masters ever, Yoda, and still got his ass handed to him by Darth Vader. Rey had no such humbling, she almost did when Snoke was throwing her around, but nope Snoke is dead now. And unlike Luke after his defeat by Darth Vader, Rey does not get to reflect on her defeat and grow and figure out how to finally defeat Snoke.

So any challenge she had has been removed, and not even by her own doing. Shes just as strong as kylo even though Kylo was actually trained by Luke, and Snoke. She has no challenge to her authority, nothing thats going to actually make me wonder if shes going to lose. Nothing that is going to cause her character to grow. she is exactly the same as she was in TFA. In fact we dont even need to watch TFA, as nothing that happened in that film has any bearing on this one. We could start the new trilogy right here.

@ltjohnnyrico: Luke was also a full grown man. Still needed training. Even though he IS somebody a son of the most powerful Jedi ever. He still had to EARN his power. He didnt just move shit with his mind and control people on a whim. You have no argument here.

@ltjohnnyrico: It shouldnt have been a draw between the two. She should have been killed 5 times over by now. Im sorry but the film spent no time growing her into a powerful character, and just made her one because the plot needs her to be. Wonder Woman needed training for christs sake and shes literally a GOD. You're counter points are just illogical. You also claim Anakin came from nobody, and thats true, which is why he had to train with Obi-wan. He had the potential to be the greatest Jedi ever, and it was unlocked with his training, his veteracy in fighting decades of war, and finally his training under the Emperor. We get NONE of that with Rey. She simply is because the story needs her to be. Even the movie says so. Kylo is so powerful so randomly this girl on Jakku HAS to be the exact same strength just because the force says so, even though that blatantly disregards the entire star wars franchise.

Everyone is like "ooo this director turned star wars on its head. oooo so bold" BS!! Total BS! If he wanted to really be bold he would have had Rey join Kylo right there. The movie even set it up. She dove right into the darkside without even resisting! Perfect set up for her joining Kylo. There team up was one of the most interesting and fresh moments in star wars film history, but then they freaking ruined it, by doing the same old "No, Im a good guy" BS, and then somehow everyone says this was so bold and different? No. Should have built it up had her join Kylo and ended the film right there on one of the best cliff hanger nailbiting edge of your seat film ending in star wars history. This director couldnt commit to a damn thing
