You see, Nintendo was very aware of the current zombie threat, and in conjunction with President Bush's "No Child Left Behind", Nintendo took some steps to make sure that families across america were educated in what to do in case of a zombie outbreak. i will tel you who won its always the weaker system . sega was more powerful then nintendo system of the day . but nintendo still kicked there but . ps1 sold like crazy breaking major records in sales . it was also weaker then n64 ! ps2 was the weakest last gen yet again it out sold others by far . so far good hardware has never won system wars .deadmeat59

I am a Wii-owner, sheep, mindless drone, etc. etc. etc. and even I want a PS3 to play FF XIII. Is it overrated? Not as a series. Are certain FF games overrated? Yes, but it depends on who you talk to. I'd say FF7 is overrated, but that's because everyone talks about it like it was Jesus Christ's 2nd coming.

All I can say is that if I am allowed to get excited about a franchise GC port (Zelda:TP), then PS3 owners are allowed to be excited about a franchise built-from-the-ground-up-for-the-PS3 game.

I can't put into words how frustrated I feel that some of you are being suckered into buying this game again. Truth01

"everyone you know" are probably all gamers. That doesn't mean the game will "sell systems".

Again, how many people bought a PS2 just to play FFX, and how many people that ALREADY OWNED the PS2 bought FFX?

IF FF and MGS meant nothing in terms of sales.......then why do people in here argue ALL the time over them.  Everytime you ask some1 "why are you getting a ps3"......it's "oh because I want to play MGS4 and FFXIII".  Those are the two games practically every owner sites as a reason which they own the PS3.

Yeah, those people ALREADY OWN the PS3. You just said it yourself. That doesn't make those games system sellers when they are released.

I don't even know why this matters so much. Just because a game isn't a "system seller" doesn't mean it will be a crap game. And just because a game IS a system seller doesn't make it an amazing game.

For example? Wii sports. System seller: yes. Amazing game: arguable, but it will be overshadowed by other Wii games quite soon.

Devs - just like Wii-bashers today - didn't take the Wii seriously, but now that it sells, they want a piece of the action. Do you think that developers would rather spend $19 Million on developing a quality game or $1 Million on porting a game that will sell just as easily.

Historically, "story" games don't sell systems. Fast, intense, action games sell systems. So FF XIII is probably not going to be a system seller.

GT5 is a car racing game, which many consider to be a "casual" game, and most casuals are buying Wiis right now. No hardcore gamer is going to buy a PS3 simply because it has a nice racing game.

MGS4 will be awesome, but it won't sell systems, either. It is a very complex game that doesn't really fall under the "fast, intense, action game" category. Saying that MGS4 will sell PS3s is like saying that Jade Empire 2 (if it even exists) will sell 360. Both fun games. Both NOT system sellers.

The Final Fantasy series is one of the most popular worldwide in terms of sales and critical acclaim.  to say that it won't sell systems is ridiculous.  FFXII has already sold about 5 million copies worldwide and FFX has sold about 8 million

And to say that MGS4 won't sell systems is also insane.   Metal Gear 2 sold about 5.5 million copies and MGS3 sold about 4 million copies.

I can't understand why anyone would think that these two games would not sell systems..........I mean jeez, FFXII has been out for what, 6 months?  And it's sold 5 million already.  Halo 1 sold about 6.5 million and it's been out for 6 years. To say that FF and MGS aren't system sellers is false

No, it's quite correct. Sales numbers of individual games does not necessarily reflect that it is "selling" a system. And if sales numbers mattered, we would have seen millions of people buying a new PC because of The Sims franchise...oh wait, they already HAD computers. Millions of people bought FF, true, but many MANY of those people already owned a PSOne or PS2.

Also, in regards to Blue Dragon sales in Japan, Blue Dragon was bundled with the 360, which was a huge incentive....

Sort of speaks volumes as to what sort of games the Japanese enjoy. Won't even buy a 360 unless a Japanese-style RPG is bundled with it. :?
