I'm not going to judge the game until I play it, but from what I saw throughout from the press releases is that Blizzard allowed many bad (in my opinion) game mechanics to carry over from World Of Warcraft to Diablo 3. It's definetely become more "casual", and that usually means less challenge, which means less fun for me.

The funny/sad part about all this is that some people with eyepatches are now playing the single player game freely without server limitations, while actual buyers have to wait in line like good folks.

So amongst the tons of remakes and studio revivals taking the Kickstarter route, I found these guys:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/stainlessgames/carmageddon-reincarnation

I know they've been talking about a Carmageddon remake for some time, but now it looks closer to realization with this campaign. And for change, it's a campaign I would actually support.

What other projects would you be willing to support? I'd love a BattleZone (1997) remake.

Good luck with your Kickstarter campaign. I'm for anything to help Interplay back on its feet, they're one of my favorite childhood companies. I feel inclined to mention that there is a relatively (2010) new battle chess games out there, and it's pretty good.

BTW it's called Battle VS Chess, wierd huh :)

It's official now, the website for Company of Heroes 2 is now online, check it out!

It's one of my favourite RTS of all time, hope the new one is at least as good.

[QUOTE="Majd_Abdulqadir"][QUOTE="-wildflower-"]

I would like to know what these "objective aspects" are, please.

Ragingbear505

- Compare graphics - Compare vastness (size of game area, places to visit, dungeons, towns, caves, etc) - Compare gameplay mechanics (combat, stealth, thieving) - Compare land topography and geographical variety (rivers, waterfalls, hills, mountains, valleys, roads and secret paths, forests) - Compare interaction options with people, quests and subquests, choices when dealing with NPCs. - Compare audio-visual atmosphere and environment If you like the Morrowind story better, that's a plausible opinion. In any other aspect, Skyrim is factually better.

Also the number of factions. Note: These are major joinable factions that are not included as part of the main quest line or joined as an honorary thing.

Morrowind:
Mages Guild
Thieves Guild
Fighters Guild
Morag Tong (Dark Brotherhood equivalent)
Imperial Legion
Imperial Cult
Tribunal Temple
House Hlaalu
House Televanni
House Redoran (only one great house could be joined a playthrough unless you used cheats/exploits)
East Empire Company (had a quest line to help develop a colony on Solsthiem complete with progressive construction)

Oblivion:
Mages Guild
Thieves Guild
Fighters Guild
Dark Brotherhood
Arena

Skyrim:
College of Winterhold (Mages Guild) - Beaten in two hours lololol
Thieves Guild
Companions (Fighters Guild)
Dark Brotherhood
Legion/Stormcloaks

Let me fix that for you: 1.College of Winterhold Guild - has 8 quests for the main guild storyline ( the one you beat in two hours ), plus 11 more side quest in the same guild (look around, talk to people, try to find out what's hidden in the tunnels under the college, you'll be surprised ). Also there are 5 master quests for the spell trainers. 2.Thieves Guild - Again, there's a main guild questline, plus sidequests. But more importantly there's an endless randomly generated set of quests (Radiant) that sends you all over Skyrim to steal special items and coins. Also there's the Stones of Barenziah treasure hunt. 3.Companions (Fighters Guild) - Again, you've got a main questline, various sidequest you get by walking around talking to people and exploring your surroundings, and a Radiant quest type that changes every time you play. 4.Dark Brotherhood - Same as above, main quest, side quests, and radiant quest. You can't put Legion and Stormcloaks as one questline, because they are mutually exclusive and lead you on different paths ( same as House Hlaalu/Televanni/Redoran). You can only choose one path per playthrough. so: 5.Stormcloaks - fight the Imperials in a variety of quests, and conquer two Imperial holds. 6.Imperial Legion - fight the stormcloaks in a variety of quests, and conquer two stormcloak holds. 7. The blades - Maybe you never got to that questline, but it's alot more than just lighting a few torches in an ancient cave. You'll be recruiting followers to join this guild and building it from the ground up. 8. The greybeards - They will guide you on obtaining more words of power in a radiant questline. 9. Bards college - Another quest line revolving around music, poetry, and a festival. That's a ton of great content right there.

[QUOTE="ferret-gamer"][QUOTE="Majd_Abdulqadir"][QUOTE="ferret-gamer"] Just because it has sequels doesn't make the game not worth it. Morrowind is still a great game and no doubt worth playing.

Of the 3, which did you play first? Morrowind? Oblivion? or Skyrim? When it comes to comparing them, I notice alot of zeal from people who played Morrowind before it turned "mainstream" with Oblivion and Skyrim. It just boggles the mind to hear people say that Morrowind's vastness and art surpasses Skyrim, it's just not factual, even with Mods.

Hmm maybe because art preference is not factual? I find morrowind to be more diverse and the environments more interesting. One town may be built out of mushrooms, the next giant palaces in the water, and the next made out of hollowed crab shells. And besides that, you completely ignored my point. Just because oblivion and skyrim exist and may be overall better games, it doesn't change that morrowind is still a great game and is easily worth playing on its own values.

I agree with you on the point that Morrowind is, in its own merit a great game. I played it too and loved it. I just find it crazy that some people actually say it *looks* better than Skyrim. That's just a slap in the face of all the game developers and artists who put their hearts and souls to advance this industry further every year. Just put two screenshots of the landscape both games have to offer, and tell me Skyrim is not a step forward.

Would i enjoy it after playing oblivion and skyrim? or is it a bit past it now?

ferret-gamer
If you've never played Morrowind before playing any of the newer games, then there's no reason to do so now. The only thing standing for it now is the nostalgia factor, and it too has its limits. In every other objective aspect Skyrim is a step forward and above Morrowind.
