I can't say whose fault it is. I go on STEAM and can't get pings any lower than 500plus except COD 2 and it's pings are high too. It use to be I could play a great number of multiplayer FPS games online but not anymore. Only one now. The change came all of a sudden. A few months ago. Now I don't think it is such a good idea to invest in games that don't support their online play after just a few months. I don't buy a game just for the single play. It would be over too soon and there would be little sense of community like multiplayer. I hope this cheap trend ends right away. It is a dumb move ....as usual...by management.

Thanks to all for your advice. I knew in the end it would be construed as being my fault.............Before I ever downloaded the patch the game went "high ping" on me. STEAM did not prevent that by keeping up the updates. I will dig up the game and use it to play multiplayer instead of STEAM. Sad though. STEAM should keep it's promises.

I used to be able to play both COD games. WAW and MW. Not now. The ping is so high it is rediculus. I have gotten the latest patch for WAW and STEAM says it is not a mod they would handle. They don't "handle" anything below that either. They don't seem to be handling anything.

Yes it is. I used to be able to play COD World at War. Now the pings are too high. The pings are also creeping up on COD Modern Warfare. This happened all of a sudden. A few weeks ago. I added a patch (1.07)for CoD WAW and now STEAM calls it a mod it wont handle. I thought the deal was STEAM would keep us all up to date. I am falling behind. Any suggestions?

What could I do about the "health" of my ISP? I have been having this problem for about two months with COD: World at War. I was fine and then...whamo! I got pings in the thousands. I got the latest patch and now I get a low ping of about 200. Still no good. I don't know what to do.

I have the latest patch but I get such high pings when I got to play multiplayer with the game COD: World at War. It happened suddenly and I figured it meant I needed a patch. My PC is fine. It is not the problem. Is there somewhere I can go to improve my circumstance? Tweak? Join a clan? Get still another patch beyond 1.07? Constructive suggestions welcomed. Thanks.

I am not getting CoD: World at War, multiplayer, anymore. I think it may be a patch. When I check there are many i.e. 1.05, 1.06, 1.07, etc. How could I know what my version (patch) is????. Where do I look ?

I get amazing pings. 2000 and beyond. Just lately. What happened? Crazy.

I have never....never heard of Torchlight. I am not saying it is a bad game. Just that I have never heard of it.
