None, this game should be buried years ago. =(Vinth

AMEN TO THAT! I only tried the demo of bf2142, nice touches to it and all, but it defintely lost something compared to bf2, ...let me think now, ...thats it! fun!

Dont bother with either, get BF2 if you havent tried that already, knocks 7 shades of sh#t out of bf2142. I could hardly believe the difference between the 2 versions, and Im an avid battflefield series fan.

...apparently the original counter strike plays better than CS:S

Could always wait for the new gts, it'll supposedly have 128 stream processors which puts it in the same league as a full blown (current)gtx. If your gonna upgrade, try doing it like once a year so you get the most value out of your current card.

The 7900GTX is the better card, but I wouldn't buy either one at this point unless you're getting them for a good deal (less than $150).RayvinAzn

Dont listen to this monkey! Ive got a 7900gtx, only cos I found one cheap 6 months ago, and Iwish I had found a cheap x1900xt or xtx instead. Overclock the xt and you have yourself a pretty fine card for the price. In the latest games the 7900gtx andx1900's take a pasting, but the x1900's handle it far far better. Do you like crysis? check out gamespots crysis performance guide, the 1900xtx (which you should easily be able to get the xt up to with overclocking) is 10fps quicker than the gtx. Theyre both old-hat technology, but the x1900 seriesstill has some teeth. Check out any benchmark and the x1900xtx wins 95% of the time. Modern shader heavy games really benefit from the 48 pixel pipelines of the x1900 over the24of the 7900gtx. End of.

No there have been loads of games over the years that were ahead of there time. Oblivion, quake 4 pre first patch, doom 3, farcry, going farther back, falcon 4.0 ...and even further back ...nascar racing circa 1996 i think. In fact, before the 8800 series came out, most new games were like it really. Short memories all you out there.

Maybe a bit of a long shot, but if you have lots of things going on you can exceed the number of audio chanels your audio hardware can deal with. I used to get stuttering in oblivion while on a horse, turned off sound effects in the config files, ...well what do you know, no more stuttering. Bought a dedicated sound card and fixed all. Did try new drivers for motherbaord, didnt help none though. If youve got strange stuttering problems that as far as you can tell arent system ram/loading time/video ram related, try exploring your audio options.

BF2's all right though. I'm a casual gamer myself, my kill/death ratio is horrendous, but i once ended a game 2nd highest by being a medic and going imhotep (raising an insane amount of "dead" comrades). Not suave, but it works. Well, i also did a fair amount of sniping too.jaygamer

I quite like games like that, once i was on an awful team with one flag on mashtur large size, and i was the only medic actually healing and reviving, I couldnt revive or heal quick enough to do everyone, my noob team were getting slaughtered that much. Absolutely cleaned up on points, something like 16 revives and 15 heals, plus a load of kills. Anything but suave that match, running, jumping and diving left right and center. Real swash buckling stuff. Awesome.

Dont bother changing. Take a deep breath, ...and wait a while for the gtx refresh.

...or the price of a gt to drop further, and actually be available somewhere.

Its a pretty sweet game, but its complicated, and youve really got to be on the ball. You need to work out a long list of things to do for the first 10-15 minutes, and keep an eye on what your building/resources at all times. If you want some advice, dont join any games with more than 5 other players, as there are a hell of a lot of players with slow computers and the chances of a lag fest are always pretty high in 'large' games. Try 2v2 to start off with. One map called fields of isis is quite noob friendly, as defending your base is fairly straightforward for the uninitiated.
