This is the most overrated game I have bought in some time. I'm not going to go into what I don't like about it. Its not a *bad* game as such, there's just a lot of problems with it. The game frequently restarts my computer for one thing. I am still only up to the first map where you have to go to the cementary and kill one of the bosses. Should I tough it out and keep going or just leave it before it dismantles my poor ol' PC. I don't know how much more the old girl can take. biggest_loser

Your totally correct. San andreas was absolute pants, too big and too dull after you leave your home town. Lost interest pronto. Bin it mate, not worth the effort :)

I can tell you from personal experience that the HD3870 is a pretty great card, depending on how much you get it for of course.

In DX9, it runs absolutely terrific. Im playing world in conflict with an average of 30 FPS completely maxed out across the board, and I know its not useful for you, but when I play BF2, Im playing at 1280x1020, and 8xAA, and I usually get 85-100 FPS. however, when switching over the DX10, you will probably get a 60-70% performance drop, whichwas EXTREMELY dissappointing for me, but I doubt that it is the fault of the HD3870, and not the fault of DX10.

Glad to see another bf2 player! eternal classic of a shooter if ever there was one. Thinking about trying bf2142, have you tried it at all? BTW i have a 2900 pro at xt speeds, it tears through nearly everything. r600 and derivatives are good cards.

Half life 2 - yuck I felt dirty after completing it. Not a patch on the first one.

...and whoever said battlefield 2, you sir have no taste. Best online shooter ever ever ever ever ever ever. Hard to aim guns makes it BETTER!

STALKER is an excellent game experience but with alot of rough edges. The patches have done a hell of a lot for it. The very first 'vanilla' version before the first patch was just such a beta version it was unbelieveable.

The other guy was right, elite stalkers should have come after you once your standing increased, that would have been interesting.

Also, the two seceret labs could have done with some proper monsters down there, not that stupid 'hands and legs' monster, which was scary at first because its soo large and soo ugly, but something really bad ass.

England getting knocked out of euro 2008, living in germany doesnt make that any easier or less embarasing.

Maybe your expectations are too high. Most people would be happy to get 25-45 fps on high as you claim, I know I would. If it's an abosolute joke then why even take the time to make a thread about it? Seems pretty pointless...

I actually laughed out loud in the office at that one! Mate get over yourself. The only ones who whinge about crysis are the ones with 320mb & 640mb 8800gts's, who used to be able to max out any game and now find they cant and are super bitter about it. Stick it at 1280x1024, turn shadows and post processing to medium and head over to tweakguides and help speed it up. And dont play it in vista, give it xp and the dx10 hack, again with shadows and post pro. at medium.And about the earlier comment, silky smooth is rather just smooth at 25fps min, but smooth nonetheless.
