Now this is just being beyond pathetic. The bill passed 91-3 in the Senate I read somewhere. (Correct me if I'm wrong on that.) That it was going to pass was a foregone conclusion and there was absolutely no need for him to be present for the actual vote. Wow, the people campaigning for president aren't present for many votes. Wow, he wasn't there to make a completely inconsequential vote and thus he clearly did not support the bill.

Man, it's too bad he wasn't there to make it 92-3. I'm sure that would have made all of the difference in the world. Seriously, if this is and his preacher are the best that right-wingers can come up with against Obama, that just shows how ridiculously desperate they are to come up with stuff with which to smear him. Of course, I'm sure they are saving up the silliest stuff for closer to the actual election.

Anything to slam Obama though, seriously, no matter how utterly desperate it looks. Just keep this up every day. Make sure it's from a site with a blatantly obvious right wing agenda for extra points. It's kind of funny really.

SpaceMoose

That's ok, SpaceMoose. I suppose we're to forget anything possibly involved with the Messiah Obama's judgement. We're supposed to forget his several Anti-American, racist pastors....he DIDN'T hear them say ANYTHING offensive, guess he's Helen Keller now.....we FORGET the way he bought his home from a criminal facing life in prison.....we FORGET how he pledged not to break Campaign Finance Reform which he voted for, only to break his word......we FORGET everything about your savior Barry.

Once again, I tell you specifically Sir how I DON'T support McCain at this point. I do, however, know that Barry is on par with Karl Marx in his views, that he doesn't give a flying **** about you, and how much he HATES the middle class. This is your wake up call America: Are you listening???

http://thelastbestplace.blogspot.com/2008/06/obamas-first-ad-lies.html Researching some blogs and listening to some radio coverage, I stumbled upon a story virtually UNHEARD in the lamestream media. Obama's 1st political campaign ad states that "Barack Obama supported the passage of laws extending healthcare for our wounded troops". What the ad DOESN'T say, is that the legislation being refered to was the 2008 Defense Authorization Bill, passed in January 2008. The problem is, not only did Obama NOT write the bill, HE DIDN'T EVEN VOTE IN FAVOR OF IT! Now to be fair, John McCain didn't vote on the bill either. It'd be idiotic to expect either McCain OR Obama to be regularly voting in the Senate when they're both running for president. BUT, McCain didn't use it in a campaign ad. Obama should be ashamed.

[QUOTE="MrGeezer"]

lol...apparently you REALLY can't follow an argument.

Well, thanks for trying.

LJS9502_basic

I love irony.

Nowhere in my discussion with you did that come up....except in your mind.

Basic, I take the blame with this one. I started the original arguement on Death Penalty for molesters, but I don't think my arguement was understood clearly. I argued that in my own opinion, a sicko who molests or rapes a child deserves the Death Penalty immediately. I apologize for not making my arguement extremely clear.8)

The republicans have a christian foundation, and look at how war hungry they are. Over 500,000 civilian casualties since this war started, which is a lot more than our 4,000 fallen troops. Meat_Wad_Fan

MeatWad, please don't make me start in on how much you fail with this statement. Keep drinking Obama's Kool-Aid, and follow along with the rest of the "anti-corporate" hippies Like Ward Churchill who're against us "little eichmans".

Also, news flash genius, the casualties are nowhere close to 500,000. The WHO even acknowledges this. And the misused "Civilian" casualties numbers which are constantly sited by leftists routinely include the Insurgent death numbers as well. Ouch, sick burn.

Okay, so what you are saying is that, based on the Biblical description of Jesus, he would have been for the death penalty in some cases, right? Not a single part of your reply contains any mention of how this agrees or does not agree with Christianity, which is what the thread is about. I should have seen that right wing topic derailment curveball coming from a mile away.

The Bible and Christianity, contrary to some people's belief, is NOT ONLY ABOUT JESUS. Christians believe in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit which fomrs the holy Trinity. God has traditionally taught not only peace, love and understanding but also retribution and redemption to include wrath. Jesus' sermons were NOT simply always about peace love and Harmony, he Also taught of punishment and retribution

[QUOTE="MarineJcksn"]Nice try SpaceMoose, should've seen this leftist ball coming from a mile away. The Death Penalty is just common sense in SOME cases. For example, our worthless, disgusting Supreme Court today ruled that the Death Penalty for Child Rapists in "Unconstitutional". This is the most outrageous thing I've ever heard. How can anyone NOT advocate killing a child molester?MrGeezer

Umm...maybe because they haven't killed anyone?

Exactly. Child Molestation is worse.

It saves alot more money keeping people alive, as opposed to executing, which costs much more, it's just the best way to save tax dollars in that situation I suppose.

I seriously doubt that. But if you're right, I'll believe it. In either case, bullets are cheap. Gimmie the chance and I'll do it myself, wont even charge the state money and I'll provide the ammunition myself.8)

Couldn't we just castrate him and call it a day?

For the longest time, I felt that way too. But, given our current legal system odds are he'd still spend some time in jail. I dunno about you, but I'd rather NOT have my hard earned tax dollars paying to keep a waste of life like that alive. I dunno why there's even a debate when it comes to child molesters and rapists. Studies repeatedly show they can't be rehabilitated.
