it could be that youve had the disc near a speaker or mobile phone as the magnetism can play havoc with data

Isn't it a little sad when people look into offline games only when they don't have internet access?Black_Knight_00

yes it is, but thanks to the outtage, i have rekindled my love for single player games and have finished a few more of my long list.

i guess the main simillarities are they are both top down shooters with zombies in them. imo that is all. Dead Ops is just a cheap, short, limited add-on to a game, whereas Dead Nation is a full game and a good length for the price. Dead Ops bears more of a resemblance to BlOps zombie mode as it has waves of zombies and Dead Nation has full levels that you have to clear. Also Dead Nation has the abillity to upgrade weapons and armour etc over the duration of the campaign. Controls are a bit more sophisticated in DN too. it sounds like im being biased, but its not that i dont like DOps (i do), i just dont think there is a comparison to be made. i got DN from welcome back but i would have quite happilly have paid full price for it!

ill get both as a lot have people have said. im really hoping BF3 "wins" but cant really see it happening. ive played the CoD games since the beginning and agree they are getting a bit tiresome but the main selling point for me is the customisation of classes/perks etc (even though some people just use QS classes or MLC or OMA, Danger Close and noob tube)). ive not played and BF games, but i played MoH for a while. mutiplayer was fun but let down by minor points likethe inabillity to goprone. my main issue with it was the lack of customisation with classes. only 3 classes which you had have to unlock more weapons etc with. and this is the same setup in the BF series im told.anyway, i digress. my point is, if BF3 were to have the customisation of previous CoD games, it would be an absolute winner hands down (for those adults among us anyhow, not 12 YO's). all my mates share this oppinion too. anyone else? also, does anyone know if MW3 is gonna have destructible environments? this will be a huge factor too as BF3 is bound to have them

Hi ive just downloaded Xpadder and a 360 controllerwondered if any of you seasoned PC gamers knew if you can assign any rumble features of the pad to games that dont recognise the 360 pad such as Bioshock 2. thanks

@ Greyfeld yes i agree that RPGs have always been about the story, but my point was that developers seem to be sacrificing certain aspects of gameplay over cinematic experiences. take FFXIII for example. free roam is practically non existent and that is a feature which i consider to be a defining feature of the genre
