So, ive had a few PS3's since it was released and (im ashamed to say) never bothered with the Uncharted series... until last week. picked up both for less than a tenner. I can see why they are so popular, they are awesome. But, i play multiplayer U2 last night and thought it was ok and average but nothing exceptional. its not that i was bad at it (rather good actually) but didnt seem to get any satifaction out kills or objectives. Whats everybody elses oppinions on it? and if you think its great, why?

1080p is best but on a 26" you wont be able to notice at all. id'd say only from 50" upward youll be able to tell the difference. im happy with a 32" though

IMO that was a good buy provided that has model backward compatibility. To a large extent,YLOD will be taken care of if you take care of heat dissipation by measures like not keeping console on carpet, keeping the console in a well ventilated place and keeping it covered when not in use.

Give it a good hoover on a regular basis too

i think it comes down to personal taste. If your only interested in campaign the go for 2 then 3. in MP 2 feels a bit sluggish imo and maps arent that interesting. you should rent both to build a comparison

Just found a few games this week which I consider to be at the top of the PSOne Food Chain:

  • "DRIVER" (the first game, everything after that was downhill)
  • "Colony Wars" (Space dogfighting at it's finest)
  • "Army Men 3D" (again, the very first game, the rest were middling to terrible but the first was BRILLIANT)
  • "R/C Helicopter" (fantastic early use of dual analog tech - Excellent flight sim)

A few more which I have either re-purchased through PSN as digital copy, or still have the PSOne discs:

  • "Pandemonium!" (Best platformer available for the system)
  • "Konami Arcade Classics" (For "Time Pilot", the greatest quarter-muncher of my arcade career)
  • "Rage Racer" (Best of the "Ridge Racer" franchise - Arcade type racing)
  • "Reel Fishing" (Excellent relaxation tool & palette cleanser after intense action gaming which is COMPLETELY addictive - Try it before you scoff)
  • "Twisted Metal 2" (Can't be beaten. Period.)
  • "R/C Stunt 'Copter (Another really fun flight sim)

Then there are the obvious games you have mentioned like "MGS", all the CAPCOM horror games like "Resident Evil", etc.,

Check out some of the off-the-beaten-path games above which I listed though... You won't hear too many others pointing to them, but in my experience they rock.

Enjoy your PSOne! Not everything needs to be in HD to be enjoyed and provide a quality game. I salute you!

Rage Racer was my favourite arcade racer EVER! i loved it, so much fun. that why i love these boards because people remind me of games that i have forgotten. so much nostalgia

Haha, I actually just bought a 32X from ebay and I'll probably buy the game if I can find it cheap enough. I just'd hate to play it on an emulator, I've got OCD about it or something ;p hopefully it'll see a virtual console release or something.kneehop

Id keep the "E" word out of conversation on these boards. I see your new to these (me too)but all mention of it is frowned upon. you might see yourself get modded. just some friendly advice though
