[QUOTE="Merovingin33"]Do you get a really clear/good look at the monster?!!?didnt bother me at all.
just keep in mind that the person holden the camera isnt the damn guy from the tv show cops. how he can run and keep a steady camera at the same time. when he needs to he will run or toss the camera when needed.

quote Matt the director
by the end of the movie viewers will get a intament encounter with the monster.
and boy was he right ^___^
i can name three movies that do this; Blair Witch Project, Cannibal Holocaust, and Cloverfield. i have seen neither Blair Witch nor Cloverfield, but i plan on seeing Cloverfield VERY soon. i thought Cannibal Holocaust did a great job with it, seeing as how it is the first movie (to my knowledge) that has used that effect. unfortunately not many people have seen it because it's been banned in most countries and is pretty rare; but i believe Grindhouse has released (or is planning to) release a special edition of the movie. whether it is heavily edited or not, i do not know.
i have a question for those who've seen Cloverfield. WHAT THE HELL DOES THE MONSTER LOOK LIKE? and.. does the shaky-camera-realism effect hinder the overall experience?

Oh man - please tell me it's not another SHAKEY, BLAIR-WITCH, hand-held camera movie...
I went through a bottle of Pepto trying to watc hthe Blair Witch Project...
Is there a 3rd person mode? :D
i say to all. if your a sissy and get deal with a movie trying to go for realizum and a bit of a shakey camera dont see it.
not like Hud (camera guy's name) is worken for the tv show cops and knows how to run and film at the same time in a calm collect maner
now you have to catch up with the viral marketing.
like the news report of the oil drillng plant going down
could you guys go ahead and spoil it for me and tell me what the monster looked like? use the [spoilers]* Or atleast tell me it looks like the godzila/whale thing that was posted some time back.best-gam3r
you cant explain something that doesnt look like anything you have seen before.
not with out butchering it with little detail.
Went to the 12:01 showing and I really enjoyed it.
First off, I am a sucker for good cinematography, so I really enjoyed the originality of the whole handi-cam POV
I also liked the fact that they took the time to introduce the characters and give them their own distinct personalities. It made us actually care about them and their ultimate fate.
Even though a lot of people in the theater seemed dissatisfied with the end, I liked it because I thought it was fitting. Throughout the entire movie, we only know and see what the characters know and have seen. Though the movie ended on a cliffhanger of sorts, I still liked it. It gave us enough info to put the rest of the pieces together for ourselves. For example, when the credits were rolling, in the background was "PROPERTY OF THE U.S. GOVERNMENT" which means that the tape was found, and therefore the monster was killed.
I still have a few questions though...
What's the significance of the title?
Where the hell did the monster come from?
Overall Rating: 3 stars out of 4

i would tell you what the title might have came from but i really dont want to take away the magic of this film.
no one really knows YET were this monster came from however quote a artical with the director matt saying "this thing is pissed and confused and has been asleep for thousands and thousands of years"
i've been fallowing the film since it aired with the transformers in theaters.
