ahahah good point, but you gotta admit that the DS is great.Ten years from now you'll be asking why people prefer playing on handhelds over consoles. It's because people are getting dumber and lazier(it's a scientific fact - see Idiocracy).

[QUOTE="Golden_Boy187"]1. Price ....it is cheaper then PC gaming....... a rig that could run crysis maxed out and going 60fps is going to cost me more then 200 bucksVandalvideoDouble standards. Consoles can't run Crysis maxed out at 60fps. A rig which could run Crysis at 720p resolutions at 30fps (average console game may be even lower!) is around 400-500. And even then, there are enough price differentials like game price to make up for this discrepency.
Why wouldn't you play a game like Crysis if it wasn't maxed out? Crysis on medium-high is far superior to any console game currently on the market. Not only that, but if you have a relatively new gaming PC it WILL run all new games without having to worry about specs.2. You don't have to worry about system requirements.......For example i would not be able to play a game like crysis if it wasn't maxed out.
Other people have superior televisions than you do allowing for an even greater console experience.Better go out and buy that 10K dollar TV now.It just would not feel right knowing that other ppl version of the game is looking better then mine.
There are small gaming cases out there known as Micro-atx which, in many cases, are even more portable than the average console.3.Comfort , My console is portable ... i can take if on a trip with ease.
It isn't all that difficulty to meet new people on the PC and have tons of fun. Step outside your comfort zone for once.4. Most of my friends and family are on consoles so its easy to hookup and play with them.
The amount of split screen multiplayer games on consoles have deminished greatly over the last few years. When was the last time there has been a major split screen title? The vast majority of games don't offer this style of multiplayer anymore.5. Multi player .......if i have family coming over or friends we could just simply hookup 4 controllers and play in the living room.
Also available on PC.And if more ppl want to play they can bring there systems and bang Lan party.
The only semi-lucid point you make.6. The Games!
lol, somehow you're both right :D this battle will never end I guess

[QUOTE="Birdy09"] You realize alot of us dont care alot about these ports? with some exceptions... we dont just get ports you know... "mainstream" devs are, nobody else, and yes they are a minority.Birdy09
what do you care about then? rts, mmorpg and indie games?
Il rephrase, dont care about these ports immediatly, because you know, our games last a hell of a lot longer a good deal of the time, we dont need a quick fix 10 hour blockbuster like Assassins Creed 2 the instant it is available somewhere ;P. I care about most genres except fighters and sports, all of which Im satisfied with. but MMO, RPG, RTS, FPS and Action are my favourite.you know its funny would I rather Ass Creed 2 or RDR on release for £40, or pay £15 of HoN, a rpg/rts subgenre that doesnt even exist on consoles yet thathas served me for 350 hours of competitive and coop fun which wont end soon, I say yet because console always seem to be 5-10 years behind. I cant wait til consolites start hyping up MMOs like they currently do shooters with mechanics from 10 years ago, in some cases less.
if those are your fave genres, then yes, I'd rather play them on Pc, too, as it's best to play them on Pc, I absoultely agree with you there. But for example I like fighters and my favorite sport game is Fifa, but EA decided that they won't release those games on pc, or rather they do, but castrated versions of the real thing, so I'm "forced" to play them on a console. This is what keeps Pc gaming from being my fave platform to be honest.

you guys just watch, more games sell on consoles than PC nowadays, this will lead to developers to opt out of making a PC port, like many games currently are doing. this is what will eventually make PC gaming mostly die, because there will always be smaller games coming out, but no huge exclusive games like before.

as long as you're happy to play late ports... devs are definitely giving the priority to consoles.

well since you quoted me on what I posted.. let me post it again.. on why we don't see simultaneous PC and Xbox 360 releases of games.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Microsoft Game Studios' Peter Zetterberg, the business development manager for Europe
"On a global scale the Windows Vista business is as important as our Xbox 360 business," he said, when questioned about why we don't see simultaneous PC and Xbox 360 releases of games. "But in Germany for example, we want more gamers to buy our Xbox 360. If we launch a game that is on 360 and PC simultaneously, we basically shoot ourselves in the foot by allowing the German market to choose to play the PC version – because they are more likely to buy that than spend their money on the Xbox 360."
He continued, "On a global scale the PC is very relevant to us. And I would say that 90 per cent of the games that are pitched to us are on console. We're strongly perceived as a console publisher because we're the first-party publisher even though the Windows operating system is equally important to us. If we launched a Halo game on PC and 360 in Germany simultaneously, 80 per cent of sales would be on the PC. So we need to pick and choose our formats."
yes, but it's not only that. you have late ports also from third party developers.. Assassin's Creed 2, Gta IV etc.. and who knows abour RDR and other big games?

How would my computer run multiplat games - in general - as I'd like to play them on Pc rather than on the xbox 360?
Could I play them on Pc or I'd better stick with the console?
I don't care about maxing out games, medium settings are okay too, but if I get a better result with the xbox 360, I'll stick with it then.
thanks

anyone pls?
[QUOTE="Metroid_Other_M"][QUOTE="General_X"]While that may be true, I've found the LAN party experience much more enjoyable than split screen gaming, I just hate squinting at my small corner of the screen from across the room.DragonfireXZ95same here, it's annoying, unless you have a fairly big screen... Yeah, your own screen > sharing split screen. lan parties are slowly dying out. 10 years ago it was like a must
