[QUOTE="Shoooryuken"]playing in the living room sitting on a sofa looking at a bigger screen with friends coming over is awesome.General_XWhile that may be true, I've found the LAN party experience much more enjoyable than split screen gaming, I just hate squinting at my small corner of the screen from across the room. same here, it's annoying, unless you have a fairly big screen...

[QUOTE="KevinButlerVP"]PS3 has a much better lineup with Twisted Metal, GT5, Socom 4, The Last Guradian, Infamous 2gsgdvcbsa
Socom 4? No way that game is so casualized now for the Move, Last Guardian and Infamous 2 are not coming this year.
nor is Killzone 3yes, that's definitely a great plus for pc gamers, but still there are many great games that won't see a release on Pc..Steam sales. Great reason to play on PC. *goes to buy games*

I'd recommend getting an xbox 360 which has a better and larger lineup. but it's best if you get both! :D

Comparing the complexity of a car to a PC is obsurd. You connect a grand total of about 8-10 things when making a PC, a simple youtube video is all you need, thats how most of us do it. easy as mechano... infact, some mechano is harder >_>

My dad thinks otherwise. In fact maintaining a car is a piece of cake for him, not much harder than putting up a Home Theatre. But show him a PC, and he chickens out. In fact after years of surfing the internethe still has trouble locating a file in his PC's hard disk after downloading it from a websiteand keep asking me to actually find it for him.
And there's my brother, who honestly thinks "USB" litterally means a Flash Memory Drive (so as far as he's concerned, the connector of a USB Mouse is not "USB", nor is that of a USB game controller).
And my mother has trouble using the cable. Just because people set in their ways have a hard time adapting to new things does not mean the new things are complicated. Nor did I make the claim that most people know how to mess with their computer. I did the opposite, I said that people do not have the knowledge, but I think they are just being closed minded because building a PC is simpler than assembling a bicycle. A car... really, a car has a myriad of different parts and are far more complicated, your Dad having it easier is a result of experience, weight his experience with PCs against that of a car and see what you come up with. Don't confuse a lack of effort to obtain understanding with complexity.
Your brother just like most people who would build a PC do not need to know why something works the way it does, they just need to know where to connect their device. You only need to know that information if you are diagnosing problems and hence why I noted that diagnosing problems IS actually difficult and is one thing that makes PC less accessible.
it's also called laziness :D
It is too much likeHalo 3 for me to bother. Maybe if the graphics were a little better and KZ3 wasn't coming out, I would consider it.Kevin_Butler_VPseriously? consolites and their gfx crap arguments are hilarious. gameplay is what REALLY matters
i just got rid of my 360. ill never get another one.
kobraka1
your loss. the day will come when you'll be regretting it. selling consoles.. bah!
PS3 only. All you need is a PS3 to get the best gaming experience possible. I have a 360 and gaming PC but I rarely use it.
Aku101
do you work for Sony or something? your signature is a bit ridiculous.
on topic, I'd go with PS3 + 360
this, but also I think the main reason is that consolites wouldn't wanna miss out on franchises like Super Mario, Metal Gear Solid, Halo etc.I would say accessability is the biggest factor. Consoles are simple, you to the store, you buy the console, you buy the games. You can always figure out a lot about console titles because they are marketed out the Wha-Zoo and if something goes wrong with your console you have a number on hand to call. Simple product.
I don't think PCs are truely complicated, but I think people have this illusion that they are. Honestly anyone can build a PC if they have the ability to read. You read the manual to do things in the right order, you are not going to plug something in wrong because the people who designed the architecture were smart enough to make it so each connector on the mobo is unique, if the connector fits there is 99.5% chance it is in the right place. Also most people wouldn't know what to do if something went wrong with a specific part. That's how stores like best buy make money with their service plans and where it is actually required to have some computer knowledge. People generally cannot diagnose the problems with their own system and therefore rely on others to do so. And fixing computers can be quite expensive if you are not knowledgeable and take it to a PC repair center.

[QUOTE="DarthBilf"][QUOTE="pitty8982"]Are you really saying PC gaming is less expensive than console gaming? Yes it really is but you have to enjoy and have the know how to build your own computers. Building computers is really cheap. For a 1000 dollars you can build a computer to compete gaming wise with a 3000 dollar dell. Plus you got to think.....Console games settings are around medium settings to a computer instead of the High or ultra high settings us with beasts can play at but my point is if I were to build a computer to produce the same quality as a console.....the most expensive piece would be the OS. I could build the computer for like 300 dollars then spend another 100 on the OS. Thats 400 bucks for a console plus so much more. Then the games are cheaper. I know most of you don't like to admit it but mods are freaking awesome. Whole games can be made just from mods. So replayabilty is much higher. I do understand though. I keep consoles for friends and exclusives. My buddies don't pc game so i play on consoles with them. Otherwise pc gaming is just so much better.apparently free online, cheaper games, mods, better performance and graphics are not decisive factors in choosing Pc over the consoles.
I don't think it's because of the price either..cause I mean, look at how expensive console games and accessories are. so what is it? lack of games on Pc? commercial? laziness?
streetridaz
Hardware wise, yes, it's so much better, but games are what really count at the end of the day, and that's where opinions come into play. I say consoles are better because there are certain games that appeal to me the most.
