Mainly because PC gaming is expensive, lacking in any real, quality mainstream exclusives nowadays, and has a perception of being extremely nerdy.

devious742

thats the thing "mainstream exclusives" most mainstream exclusive games are trying to appeal to a large audience... theres not much risk taking.. games like stalker, the witcher, cryostasis, arma 2, the void, etc.. these devs are making the games they want to make and not compromising their vision just so they can be the next CoD or gears of war.... BTW Pc gaming is larger outside of the USA.. heck they have festivals for pc games.. example:

Stalkerfest

another example of pc gaming being bigger outside of the USA (remember kids USA =/= the world)

Empire: Total War Breaks U.K. Sales Records

The triumph of Sega's Empire: Total War at the top of the ELSPA GfK-ChartTrack All Formats Top 40 yesterday marks the most successful debut in the history of the Total War series.

Week one sales of the title were nearly double those of both Rome: Total War and Medieval II: Total War, and is the first in the series' to claim the Top 40 top spot. It also becomes the first PC exclusive title to reach the top since Football Manager 2008 in October 2007 – another Sega PC title.

Empire: Total War's surge comes at the cost of Killzone 2, with sales of Sony's title dipping 58 per cent compared to its first week. A similar drop in sales was suffered by Microsoft's Halo Wars (-54 per cent), which slipped to fourth position, and Capcom's Street Fighter IV (-59 per cent).

link

exactly. devs on Pc don't need to worry about games not having market. that's why you see a wide variety of games on Pc.

- 3 GB ram

- Windows 7

How would my computer run multiplat games - in general - as I'd like to play them on Pc rather than on the xbox 360?

Could I play them on Pc or I'd better stick with the console?

I don't care about maxing out games, medium settings are okay too, but if I get a better result with the xbox 360, I'll stick with it then.

thanks

considering the lousy amount of console exclusives, it make little sense to criticize Pc gaming for the lack of games. As a xbox 360 owner I can see how pointless is to own this console sometimes, so many cross-platform games and it's use is reduced to playing those games that don't make it to the pc, or make it late.

it will use bluray, but won't need to set up a deal with Sony.

Bluray is a better technology, larger space, more resistant disc surface, so why not adopting it.

But I also think that flash drives and memory sticks could be a nice alternative to discs in the future.

yes, it was clear even at the E3, when along with Halo and Gears they also talked about Call of Duty with all the exclusive maps. what's strange is that they didn't even show a footage of Crackdown 2 which seems to rely on the online experience as well.. and game is due next month. that was weird. and Molineux just made a short appearence showing a glimpse of the game.

unfortunately Pc doesn't get console exclusive games like Bayonetta, Red Dead Redemption, Fifa games and Super Street Fighter 4 for instance. not to mention the nice exclusives that each console offers like Gow3, Alan Wake and Galaxy.

[QUOTE="dRuGGeRnaUt"] I just went and tilted my PC and wrecked my WOW disc, then I was mad so I went and tilted my Samsung DVD player and wrecked my BEST copy of everybody loves raymond. So you are wrong. not my fault you have a SUPER PC and DVD player.. Almost any tray based disc drive CAN scratch discs if moved inproperly. If that wasn't the case, why do they use different DVD drives on Laptops with the spindle lock??dRuGGeRnaUt

you wrecked your WoW disc and your dvd just because you tilted the tower case and the player. congratulations, teach me how to do it, because with my 5-year old cheap pc no scratch will happen if i tilt the tower while the disc is spinning.

Would you kindly(:D) send me your address; be glad to come tilt the **** out of your ****.. Can you answer my wii question from the last post?? The wii told me to use the wriststrap at at all times. I didn't, now there is a hole in my window, is this Nintendo's fault? or this: Everyone told me buying a wii would make me look like a ***, but i did it anyway. Now im a ***. This is everyones fault but mine!

you're comparing wool with linen. Using the wriststrap is a precaution as well as not tilting the console, I agree with that. What I'm saying is totally different. Like other people said - and I don't think they're all crazy/stupid/immature/haters - the disc-scratching issue was something easily solvable. Ms didn't want to and I find it contradictory seeing how they improved other aspects of the console, some of which less important, like the touch sensitive buttons.

[QUOTE="dRuGGeRnaUt"] Seriously, in every single xbox topic guy shows up bashing MS.. I smell troll... And the disc's getting scratched because you move your xbox is NOT a problem. Same would happen if you moved your computer, or home DVD player, yet for some reason no one complains about that... why? BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE SMART ENOUGH TO KNOW NOT TO MOVE THEM WHILE THEY ARE PLAYING! hehe And seriously, you can come up with better reasons than this to hate on MS... or *GASP* you could go play your PS3..dRuGGeRnaUt

DO NOT TALK NONSENSE.

I OWN an xbox 360 and I don't HATE on Ms, I just complained about an aspect that I don't like. maybe because I don't worship things just for the hell of it.

and Alan Wake is my favorite game EVER. so, save your lies next time.

You accuse me of being a liar, that's classic. You say you don't worship, however your name AND picture are of the same thing. So you are a liar.. (see how irrational i can be). fact is you started yet ANOTHER pre-failed thread about the xbox scrathing discs. I have a 16 month old son and animals and have NEVER had the xbox move. If it's a problem, then move the xbox to where people/animals can't get it. You can't get mad about something that they TELL YOU can happen. I am not disagreeing with the fact they are being CHEAP AS HELL not putting the bumpers in, but seriously, there are warning all over this device to not move it.. so don't. PS: My wii told me to keep the wrist strap connected at all times, and i didn't, and i broke a window in my house, is that something i should get mad at nintendo for?

my only disappointment is infact that they're being cheap on something that according to myself there's no reason for. I could not care less about touch-sensitive buttons if you ask me, I'm fine with normal buttons, but you're redesigning a console, care about a lot of aspects, even unimportant ones, but opt out improving the dvd drive? sorry, but I find it a bist stupid. the fact that my nick is "Metroid Other M" has nothing to do with what your saying, actually. I like the Metroid saga and that's just it. yours are lies because you say I hate on MS instead.

lol what? if I move my pc and my dvd player while the disc is spinning NOTHING happens.
