that's what "shocks" me indeed. I'd rename this games as The Curious Case of Alan Wake :S I think I'm gonna trust the gamers this time, Metacritic is only confusing me and I don't know whether I should buy the game or not anymore.I'm going to wait till I play it before I go that far, one of the guys from joystiq said he was suprised that it wasn't close to 95 on metacritic said it's his second favorite game of the year so far.

I keep hearing more and more people praising this game, but the reviewers seem to not agree at all. 82 on MC now.
Either this game is really not so great or gamers like me should just stop looking at Metacritic scores.
Honestly I do tend to trust reviewers, but this game is really a thriller even when it comes to scores and gamers' opinions.
It'd be really incredible if this game was to go down to AE's on metacritic.
for those who played it, what's wrong with this game exactly?
You have got to let this GRafIX thing go Bus, its becoming......sad:?

the saddest thing is that some people look at consoles when it comes to power, while they should just accept that they own poor man's Pc's which though are supported by very good developers like Naughty Dog, Bungie, Remedy, Guerrilla Team, Santa Monica etc..
The purpose of consoles is to deliver games, possibly good games, if you're an enthusiast and/or like power, why don't you just get a damn high-powered Pc? it's not that hard, it doesn't require so much intelligence to understand it.
[QUOTE="gamebreakerz__"]It is physically impossible, the 360 doesn't have enough power to make a game look as good as Crysis, let alone better. PS3 at max power could make something close but we will not see anything on this gen consoles that looks better than Crysis.italygamer
are you even serious? a low-end nowadays Pc destroys and disintegrate the ps3's hardware. people who believe in fairy tales are funny. it's not about power, consoles are old pieces of hardware, get over it. it's the developer's skill to make games look good with tricks ( that to your eyes will make a game look like "zooooomg" ) that makes the difference. this is simple math.
consolites will never understand it and they like to confuse art styel with raw graphics very often. and of course there's this legend of the Ps3 with hardware components that are living beings, yes, the ps3 is actually some sort of magical console that evolves and gets more powerful with the passing of the days. cows cows... they'll never learn.I owned granturismo for ps and gran turismo 4 for ps2. I was impressed by those, but this fails to impress me, maybe cause racing games are really starting to get stale...
Consoles are dominant in the US and Japan. Maybe UK. The PC is the dominant platform in the rest of the world however, due to cheaper games and believe it or not, consoles are very expensive in other countries.[QUOTE="rollermint"][QUOTE="pitty8982"]
apparently free online, cheaper games, mods, better performance and graphics are not decisive factors in choosing Pc over the consoles.
I don't think it's because of the price either..cause I mean, look at how expensive console games and accessories are. so what is it? lack of games on Pc? commercial? laziness?

The NPD reckons even in the USA PCs are more popular.
of course they're more popular, except the americans for some strange reasons like to play on consoles more..[QUOTE="pitty8982"]

The combined sales of all current-generation consoles is somewhere around 146 million - if I remember correctly, this is just under 60% the number of gaming-capable PCs sold. If someone could find the Microsoft statistics which support a 250+ million PC gamerbase then I'd be grateful.
Either, I think that the number of "enthusiast" PC gamers is vastly lower than the number of console gamers, probably by a factor of ten or so - this is because most of the PC's enthusiast-oriented games are designed to test a gamer's ability to handle complexity and in general they have slower-paced, more sophisticated gameplay. Console games tend towards the highly-cinematic blockbuster-esque "instant gratification" side of things, and therefore they appeal to a larger audience.
On the PC, have you factor in Steam's user base? which is huge and they never count those sales on NPD data and such[QUOTE="pitty8982"]

Pc gets both of them, from the indie games, to the hardware intensive/cinematic/bla bla bla ones. I think developers would be happier to develop a game for pc if they knew that they could sell more on that system. the difference is Pc games don't get advertised, hence most of the people buy console games.
