Please read the article and understand that shipped copies to a retailer is not the same as copies sold to real people. The worldwide sales are .65 million copies for ACM for all systems. Retailers can (and do) send back unsold copies of games.
Just checked the floor and it isn't cold, so hell didn't freeze over. I looked outside and world is not destroyed, then I slapped myself and I'm really awake. Good Lord something is wrong however because I just can't believe EA is doing something smart for once!
I feel like a "true" gamer plays the games they enjoy period, no matter what anyone else says. It isn't for me, as a gamer myself, to judge what others gamers like or play. I don't really care what you play as long as I get to play the games I like.
I don't really like FPS games but can totally respect that CoD appeals to 20 million plus people every year. It isn't just casual players buying that game, many "true" gamers buy it as well. Same thing with Madden NFL games, maybe you hate sport games, but many "true" gamers love them. The "true" gamer enjoys and plays what makes them happy, and should respect the fact people are going to like and play games you might hate yourself.
It is this kind of attitude that makes people see all gamers as snot nosed kids, because they refuse to understand that not everyone likes the same types of games. Don't you understand that is a good thing for all of us "true" gamers to have diversity with many types of games? It is only your an opinion if you like a game, not some magic "true gamer must love it" factoid that make it a great game for everyone!
@roosteraxe1 Oh come on, you know why. First be real, they are around 10 hours as well for SP, but you know most people buy those games for the MP that they play for many more hours with other people. That is their replay value for that type of game. If they where only SP games not nearly as many people would buy them at all, not at $60 anyway. Completely different types of games, with completely different types of people that play them, form a story driven game like this.
@pip3dream I agree with your post but there is another game like this, The Walking Dead, that only costs $30 for a new disc or $25 if you DL from Live or PSN and you didn't get it on sale. I think both Sony and Microsoft need to let these companies set the price of their games and stop forcing them to always charge $60. Most people are not going to complain about a single player 10 hour game at $30, like the Walking Dead, they would find it a great value and praise it. $60 is pushing it for a game that has no MP and only lasts 10 hours to many people that find $60 as a major investment in this economy.
@bdous Xbox Live has sales of the DLC all the time, just a few weeks ago in fact the Dragonborn DLC was on sale for 800 points. A few weeks before that Dawngaurd was 800 points and I believe that Hearthfire has been reduced to 400 points as a new everyday price. So you could have had all the DLC for $25 American already. Just keep an eye on the deals of the week or special holiday sales and you will be able to get all the DLC on the cheap, it has been on sales at least three times just from December to now on Xbox Live, and I am sure it will be again at some point, I bet around the time of this editions release.
The total amount for the DLC's (without any sales) is $50, so this version is quite a good deal overall and it has the 1.9 patch you need for all the DLC to work, added features (like horse combat), legendary difficulty and skills (removes level cap), and all the stability and quest fixes that make the game run and look great now. Since you waited this long you could even wait longer for a sale on that edition and get it for $40 after a few months or so.
If your PC can run Skyrim, I would suggest you get the Legendary Edition from Steam. Then you can use all the great mods people have made for this game from the free Steam Workshop and all the cool Nexus mods, The Nexus mods can post the more Adult things that can't be posted in the Steam Workshop, and are also 100% free to DL. You will even be able to DL the free Creation Kit to make your own mods if you feel so inclined, but don't worry, there are over 15,000 mods just in the Steam Workshop alone.
