How come we never hear a senator tell it like it really is. This "kid" played a fantasy game with magic and cartoon graphics. His goal was to join a real army that kills people as a profession. I wonder if he wanted to join the military because we have been at war killing real people for almost all of this "kids" 20 years of life. I bet that was on his mind when his mom told him he couldn't handle the Military? He sure didn't try to cast any spells or drink potions but he did use an Army assault rile like the real life people he wanted to join didn't he Mr Senator? Maybe that was more of a factor than any movie, TV show, or Video Game, don't ya think?

@jsmoke03 I have two adult children 18 and 20. I grew up with Friday the 13th, Halloween, Rambo, Texas Chainsaws, Nightmare on Elm St, and host of other horror and violent action movies and TV shows. I played games like GTA, Manhunt, and many, many other violent games. My Kids never played them until I knew they where mature enough to play them, as was my job. Did I mention music had songs like Cop Killer, F the police, and so many acts singing about death, drugs, and sex like Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Motley Crew, 2 Live Crew and NWA.

To say there was less violence is a joke. True my parents and Grandparents didn't have games like now but they still had movies like Psycho, and real life things like WW2 and Vietnam to see real violence in action on a less censored news cycle back then that showed real dead people, not fantasy ones. Funny thing myself and my kids have never committed any violent crimes, because they know real from fake, and they understand the best thing I could teach them, "Do unto other as you would have done to you."

Funny how you say it is safer on the streets, when I was a kid, everyone was allowed to play outside at very young ages and ride bikes everywhere. Today no kids play outside because parents think they are going to be kidnapped if left alone for a few minutes. Few kids ride bikes now since its "safer" for the parents to drive them to everything now, guess what I didn't even have a helmet or pads. You will get crucified today if you let your kid ride a bike without a helmet on the block, however no one says a darn thing when Jimbo beats his wife for messing up dinner. I think that is because of feel good crap like last place ribbons, political correctness out of control, along with an inept education system ranked 17th now are why you didn't know that and why you think its safer now, it is not safer now then then. People used to be happy and share an American Dream. Now your generation only sees endless debt, war, poverty, and a very slim ray of hope to land a real job (not in fast food or retail) and maybe make more then your parents if your really lucky. I can see why your generation commits more of these acts when many are left with no hope of a better future. If you lived in LA when the gangs where everywhere, you know what people with no hope can do to each other.

@deth420 @AshTrai Isn't that the point? That humans can get past this constant need to kill and hurt others weaker then ourselves. Whatever our ancestors (of all races and nations) have done in the past is just that, the past. I am not responsible for their crimes or successes anymore then you are for whatever your people have done, good or bad. People should be judged based on their actions alone, not whatever their relatives did hundreds of years ago or even last week. Judge me for what I have done good or bad, not what they have done.

@Serpentes420 @emperiox What you said, and what is an AR 15 going to do to a tank or drone if the citizens revolted anyway. Keep single bolt action hunting rifles, revolvers, and you can still allow semi auto weapons but with no more then 5 or 6 round clips. That is way more then most countries allow right now and if you need more then 6 shots to hit your target, get a new hobby.

@emperiox He holds no political office and can not make any policy. He is no more a threat for advising gun control then Alex Jones is for pushing for armed revolution like its 1776. In fact you could argue that a guy trying to incite a revolution that would lead to peoples deaths is way more dangerous then a guy calling for gun control as an option to save peoples lives.

@emperiox Shouldn't you be listing to Alex
Jones, don't you want to help deport Morgan? Nothing says America more like kicking out someone trying to express an opinion you don't like. If the politicians are serious about gun control they should start with yours and people like you. I know your type that needs a gun to compensate for what God didn't give you down south. Your one great COD player I bet, but in real combat you, and people like you, are the first ones running away pissing themselves.

There where mass killings before there was TV let alone video games. Like others have said it is easy access to guns and poor health coverage for mentally ill people that is a real problem. We spend billions on a war with a weed (that some states have made legal), give billions to countries like Japan and Germany that do not need it, yet our congress wants to cut "entitlements" like Medicare and unemployment over those things. You have to ask yourself why? Why do they keep putting everyone else in the world ahead of our own people? I guess it is for the same reason they want to blame everything and everybody other then looking in the mirror at the real problem and how they have done nothing to help anyone that doesn't make them and their money masters even more money.
