That's what happens when you use WILD animals in order to make money and put on a show. The whale has been in captivity for 27 years which is animal cruelty no matter which way you look at it. They keep a whale who's natural environment is the sea and it's natural life is to travel thousands on miles around the world yet they capture it and then keep it in a bathtub for 27 years.

To be honest I feel more sorry about the whale that the person who has lost his life. What has the whale done to deserve 27+ years in a prison?

There needs to be a new-gen already. Today's consoles have already been pretty much pushed to the limit, sure there will be even better looking games coming out in the future but it won't look that much better than KZ2 or U2. PC tech is so much ahead of console tech that's it's sad. We need a new gen already so that developers can exploit the hardware power that is available.

I fully expect new consoles coming out at Q4 in 2012 just before xmas.

Nvidia shot them self in the foot with Fermi. What's the point they are going to release their new GPU in the end of march but ATI are already planning 6000 series release in Q4 which could again be almost double the power of 5000 series.

I don't get why people are waiting months and months for Fermi in order to get the 20-30% more performence than ATI. Might just as well wait a couple of more months and get the 6000 series which will most likely be double the power of 5000 series and will blow Fermi out of the water.

Sorry man but you can't be more wrong. This has all changed this generation since most games are ports from console which means you don't need a very good graphic card. Only very few games that are PC exclusive use more power, games like crysis but there are hardly any games like that. My old X1950pro which was made in 2006 can still play 95% of console ports. I play COD4 at 1920x1080 on high which smooth 40fps. Sure it's not 60 like the console version but I am also playing it in much higher detail.

Yes there should be next-gen already. Todays consoles are already so far behind a high end PC that's it's sad. What consoles are basically doing is holding back progress of technology. Each gen should last 5 years max since PC technology almost doubles in power every year or two.

So what's the job market like for programmers? I heard that it's not what it used to be and that the pay rate keeps on getting smaller, since there's a lot of programmers but no demand by companies for them.

I am interested in programming and might go to uni this year, but haven't yet decided. I am interested in programming and I have done some VB stuff in college but I am still a newb, I know stuff like loops, if statements etc. The only thing I am worried about is maths since I heard that you need to be really good at, which I am not.
