Seriously though, what the TC said about why Halo is hated is about 95% true.

One of the definitions of a true elitist is someone who goes out of their way to be a non-conformist. This is the cause of many people uber-bashing Halo when in reality they simply think it's an ok shooter.

It's honestly really annoying.

the thing about halo is that its Over-hyped waaaay over hyped, so much hype that people consider it being over rated, its a great game, its just not worth all this hype since there are a FEW overall better(but it still comes down to personal preference) fps's out there on the pc, this kind of thread is exactly why people call halo over rated

You're missing the point. When it comes down to it, Gamespot's reviews are opinionated. It doesn't matter how many people agree with their ratings..what matters is YOUR opinion and YOUR enjoyment of the game.

Stop trying to convert people who don't like the franchise, or don't appreciate it as much as yourself. Stop saying "x game is the best game EVER." It's pointless. Reviews are simply a guideline to let people know what they're getting in to before they purchase a game. They aren't the final word on how good a game is, as that's completely open to the individual gamer to decide. You can't use them as a basis to make these obnoxious claims.

Well, I know what not everyone is going to agree with me and that's fine but I just think that if PC shooters were better than there would be more than one that scored a 9.5 to match Halo 3.

hl is a old games it should be compared to games of its own era, HL also influencd Halo in many aspects thats why people consider it a better game, it revolutionized fps's , halo didnt

We have provided examples of mods becoming one of the most popular FPS out there. We have provided examples of mods changing the game into a completely new one. Mods add new things to a game that you wont get on a console version, they aren't just simple retextures and new maps. Good night and thanks for admitting defeat.

all i saw from the tc was the same mantra over and over again, i still need some proof that the game is accuatly better then all other FPS's on pc.

it has any feature that is lacking on a pc shooter? no

pc shooters are more complex and require more skill? yes, no auto aim.

superior controls? comes down to preference but since you can use a 360pad on the pc yes the pc is superior since it has more options.

Mods, as its been already said some of the big mp franchises this year are Mods, TF2,Portal , as the old ones CS, S , and the more obscure and underground mods, some mods can even be considered expansion packs and some come close to having the same size as the game it self, (hl2 cinematic mod is pretty close).

superior mp? yes as they arent p2p servers and its free.

i could go all day, now tell me about it how all those things are opinions..
