We don't know how the single player will work AT ALL. We are all just making assumptions.

It may be completely separated from the MP.

Just like SC2, they want to bring the story forward. Doesn't mean SP is anything they want players to get frenzied about.

Blizzard is attempting to completely eliminate a major problem that was rampant in Diablo 1 and 2 - dupers and hackers.

As long as you're in the game you have to be connected. You do something the servers don't like, what goes around comes around.

i dont think i know anyone who played diablo 1 and 2 for the single player. i played them all online with coop because it was a blast with a party! i dont see much of a problem here especially since this will elminate the ppl who would dupe and hack alot! if anytyhing, this is making the game a better experience since you wont have to go through ppl duping and hacking. this will also insure the integrity of the auction house. i gotta say, i agree with them. besides, who the heck doesnt have an internet connection?

-the game was marketed as single player

-a considerable amount of people played Diablo 2 offline "for the story" and planned to play Diablo 3 offline and Blizzard is supposed to cater to them despite the fact that their direction has been online gaming ever since Diablo 1 released

-the game will not feature an autosave system, it will lock you out and delete your progress if your connection crashes

-Blizzard are just doing this because of piracy

-everyone will be undecided whether to use an item or sell it when they drop it

-anything Blizzard said is 100% going to be in the game

-anything Blizzard will say to try to say to explain what they are doing is false/they are trying to fool everyone

-noobs will be able to shell out 50$ and istantly become good at the game thanks to the RMAH

-the RMAH has no positive sides

-they are trying to screw their fanbase

-the always online DRM is comparable to Ubisoft's

-hackers and dupers are a problem that somehow "disappeared" since noone ever addressed it and the always online DRM will *not* be implemented for this reason

-connection outages are an important problem

-the change of the stats and skill trees means everyone will be the same and that there won't be customization outside the gear

It very much seems like people wasn't interested in this in the first place or just completely misunderstood what this game was meant to be.

Like I said before, it's going to be Starcraft 2 all over again. Until the game is released, hate bandwagons and related threads will infest the forums. As people starts playing the game and reviews roll in, haters will clinge to what little they know of the game and start huge flamewars. A week after it's released, it will be considered a tremendous upgrade from Diablo 2 and people who was not interested in the game will still be not interested in the game.

You are supposed to play the game YOU BOUGHT whenever you want to!So if you have a laptop and travel or a storm or some electrical problems mess your connection you sit and wait.The problem with Ah is that when you find a rare item the first thing that runs through your head is should i keep it or should i sell it?this thing right here messes up real bad the fun from playing this game.

Let's imagine you're in the middle of a single player session and haven't saved for a few hours. If your connection cuts out (which is very probable on any wireless connection) you're going to lose all that progress. Will you be singing the games praises then?SilverSignal
