Downloaded it and left the game a few hours later. This update is terrible for return players; I've lost all my tech upgrades, my base has disappeared and I can't even seem to find the system my base was in. All I'm left with after months of play is my rank S ship and multitool, plus the elements I had in my inventory which seem to now have been changed to elements I can't really use for much!
Honestly, I think this game is the perfect example of why the bigger publishers are sometimes a necessary evil.
As much as I admire Roberts (I've played every single game he has made and even watched the Wing Commander movie), he needs direction and structure which in his case only a major video game publisher seems to be able to provide. He has shown time and again that he is unable or unwilling to rein in his overly ambitious vision for Star Citizen. The truth is that if this game was being developed with one if the larger publishers, it would probably be scheduled for release next year or cancelled outright; either option would be better than the current situation in my opinion
Actually after all the updates, The Division is pretty awesome now. Say what you want about Ubisoft (and boy is there a lot to say) but they really turned that game around in the end.
Been playing it for the last few days and I haven't noticed any technical issues or bugs other than the occasional frame rate drop. Haven't run into any issues with the stealth system either. I'd give it an 8.5 so far but I might run into everything they mentioned later on.
Maybe people should first play the game before talking about how it's a paid review...etc! So far, Primal is probably the most fun I've had in the latest instalments of the Far Cry series. It looks good, plays well, adds some novel ideas to spruce up the usual Far Cry formula. I don't see why so many people are jumping down this game's throat with boots on, especially since boots didn't exist in 10000 BC :D
Will everyone just get over the whole Destiny issue; if you like it then play it, if you hate it then don't. It's also pretty simple to decide whether to play it in the first place or not; if you are a gamer that enjoys fps games and the grind then this is for you, if you don't like the grind and you're starting with new characters then this will keep you entertained for 2-3 weeks. Again, don't play if that doesn't suit you and have fun if it does.
If you are one of those gamers who craves seriously open-world games, then Skyrim is the winner by a mile over that last 1- 2 years. It's true that games like Dark Souls (which I'm a big fan of) also give you open-world gameplay, but not with the same breadth and depth that Skyrim does.
Maybe polls like this should be way more specialized and break games into categories; after all, how can you put Uncharted and Skyrim in the same list when one is very scripted and the other isn't?!
