If you could upgarde consoles, they'd be PCs. That completely negates the very idea of a console. We buy consoles because they're convenient and we can just shove in a disc and start playing (well....after you update, check for DLC......). The reason PC gaming is unattractive to many of us is that every 4-5 months, you have to upgrade some part of your PC at often high expense (unless you're rich enough to buy a high end PC setup from the get go).
I'll tell you what the problem with current gen consoles is....Lazy programming! In the good old days when your average gamer had .5 mb ram and a 20 mb hard disk, prorammers really had to pack that code tight and organized to get the most out of your system. Now when you give them oodles of RAM (relatively speaking), gigabytes of storage and mediums like Blu-ray on a console, they say it's not enough. Stop whining and start actually working for the insane amounts of money companies make from us through sloppily designed games.
All I know is that my eyesight is so bad (and still getting worse) that I'm legaly blind in some countries, and if I could swap my eyes for digital ones that would never degrade and give me perfect vision for as long as I live, I'd jump at the chance.
@spellrunner Actually mate, if you read the graphic novel "The Dark Knight Returns" you can watch Batman kick the living **** out of Superman. Greatest moment in comic book history if you ask me. The boy scout had it coming!
I've read a lot of people saying that the movie might be a failure because Ubisoft are doing it themselves. What??!! Have you guys watched the last Ghost Recon 20 minutes short they did? That was better than 80% of movies that come out nowadays. Music, cinematography, effects, everything was pretty much top notch. With their early short movie attempts in mind, I Think they'll do a great job.
@slavgunner Though there are several games that are exceptions, on the whole I agree with what you are saying.SP (at least in the FPS genre) seems to have been killed by its more popular brothers: MP and Laziness.
