firstly, im not saying im pro but ill tell you what i use on a regular basis..

kk, crosshairscale, firstly, to adjust it go to console and type cl_crosshairscale (number), the higher the smaller and i personally use 3200 as it just right in my case....you dont want such a small one u cant even see now do you!

Colour wise...mine is green so it stands out from the yellow walls of dust2 to the brown bricks of italy...

The reason for your crosshair sometimes not being visible is that you have transparency enabled...so uncheck it and it should stay constantly on the screen rather than fading at some points

ah like nocturnaldemon said Anarchy Online is fairly decent whilst being free to play so it doesnt hurt to try it out...

 personally, i would try the 10 day free trial of WoW to see if you like it or not (ill probably get flammed for recommending him WoW but meh) and if you do you can just buy a month and continue with that character

Another free MMO is Guild Wars, atm there is two versions, Factions and Prophercies so its up to you to choose one...

When it comes to this stage it asks for the password for the administrator account that is always installed with a fresh XP installation.

 The password is noramlly pass or blank...when i say blank i mean no characters what so ever...just press enter.

 WHen it asks for this administrator password it is not asking for an account that you've made and given administrator priveledges to, its asking for the password for the administrator account that was set up with the installation of xp.

 Try pass or blank (just press enter) and see if that works...i think it will.

 try to upgrade the amount of RAM you have to at least 1Gb or 2Gb depending on the money you have available at your dispense.

And the gfx card...ive heard that mid-range dx10 cards are coming out this april i believe (nvidia ones) so i would personally wait till then to buy another gfx card as i believe dx9 cards will go down in price too.
