[QUOTE="codezer0"][QUOTE="chaoscougar1"]yeh, 9.5 is a fairly dismal score, MP or SP didnt contribute to it at all, probs all forge...do u actually read what you write? :| it seems you hate reach (without even playing it) because you found some achievements on halo 3 too hard (shock horror achievements require a bit of work) and then people were mean to you because you finally got 1000. i fail to see what this has to do with the quality of the gameKillerJuan77

Hype, hype, and some generous donation $$$$'s from Microsoft and bungie. Did you really think any differently? The singleplayer was awful. The co-op was a pain in the ass to get through. And the multiplayer was full of nothing but **** like you who see fit to defend a **** game just because they spent their money on it. As much as I loved the campaign of the first Halo, I grew to hate it for Halo 3... and after the multiplayer, I just finally had enough. Why you find that so difficult to wrap your head around is not my problem.

I complete agree with you, Halo fans can really be stubborn. After Halo 2 I felt so dissapointed that I promised I'd never buy a Halo game again, and well, I rented Halo 3 and ODST just to see if they had changed in any way, but they haven't.

I agree too. Trying to convince a Halo fan you don't like the games is like trying to fly to moon using wings made out of paper. It's just a waste of time. They can't face the truth.

[QUOTE="seanmcloughlin"]

I can happily say that I have NEVER played ANY Halo game. and probably never will

DJ_Magneto
So in a way, you're happily judging the game and the series having never experienced it.

If they want to never play a Halo game then what's wrong with that? It's not stopping anyone else from playing it. Besides you don't need to play the games to know pretty much everything about them.

I've never liked the Halo games so I'm not playing it. I bought The Saboteur today though and have been playing that. Really good fun and underrated I think. On a side note, I noticed in both HMV and GAME today there were a large number of copies left. So either it hadn't been as popular as believed or all the buyers weren't out of school yet as it was before 3pm. :)

[QUOTE="muthsera666"][QUOTE="MystikRex"] Well I like FPS's. But my favourite type are the realistic ones like Ghost Recon. One's where you actually have to use your head. But that's not what the majority of gamers want. Games like Halo sell much more and there are more games like them which is sad as they're crowding the industry. We have way too many sub-standard FPS games because of Halo. It sells incredibly well and then every other developer thinks that is all Xbox 360 gamers want to play; as some space marine with no personality and the power of a small army. Well I certainly don't. anthonycg

So, you're saying that you "hate" the game because it sold so well? It's not the fault of the companies. Consumers vote with their dollars, and the votes have told the companies that the consumers like that style of game.

Sounds more like he hates the "dumbing down" of video games. It doesn't really take much skill to do well at COD. It's just being at the right place at the right time... Ghost Recon was tough in that you couldn't hop around and try to get a kill because you'd just get shredded to bits and teamwork is actually an element in the game.

I don't dislike Halo because that's "cool". I dislike it because it takes no skill. You complete a level and there's no satisfaction as it feels like I've barely worked for it. It's just level after level. I much prefer realistic shooters. They're harder and tend to be more frustrating but when you complete a level/mission it's much more enjoyable and satisfying. As I said, Halo games sell so well because more people would rather play the run & gun style shooter, there's a bigger audience for them. Plus it's got the Halo name stamped on it. Just like with the CoD series, you could carve the name into a turd and people would still buy it.

Personally, I don't understand how you can hate a game. I mean, I loved Halo CE, but I didn't like Halo 2. I don't hate it. I didn't like it so I didn't play it. But I don't know how I could hate it.muthsera666

I think the start of Mass Effect 2 on the ship as it's being destroyed is amazing. Walking past all the explosions and fire and then when you go upstairs to the upper deck there's a gaping hole in the hull and complete silence as you slowly make your way to the cockpit. That just put such a big smile on my face.

Some people do. Some people hate certain games because of opinion. Try telling a Halo fan you hate the series as I do. You'll get eaten alive :)
