[QUOTE="GummiRaccoon"]

[QUOTE="Brean24"] I never said I wanted to AMD to go under. I simply said that right now Intel is superior in terms of both price and performance. Nvidia is also better. I can find deals with nvidia GPUs too, they arent exclusive to AMD. I dont care if Intel used a giant butter knife and shoved it into AMD's back, it worked, right now AMD is a joke. The fact that you have to use last generation CPUs to even make a point proves it.Brean24

I didn't realize that 80% of the performance for 80% of the price equals a joke

Am I exaggerating a bit to prove a point? Honestly yes, but right now Intel and Nvidia do have a slight edge over AMD.

this is the reason you see people defending AMD.

If the intel trolls would just be realistic about the performance difference on the CPU side you wouldn't see any of this.

And the difference between AMD and Nvidia is almost non-existant. Pick the pricepoint and whatever GPU is at that price is the best one in that segment as AMD and nvidia have priced against each other nearly perfectly.

Techpowerup's reviews are better IMO due to testing methodology.. which isn't surprising considering what a joke Tom's Hardware has become in recent years. The 660Ti looks like a very good card. It's still $50 cheaper than the 7950 on newegg and performs every bit as well in a good battery of tests. I can see why some people would go for the 7950, but it won't appeal as well to the majority of gamers as long as it is $30 to $50 more expensive than the 660 Ti. The 7870 ghz edition is a definite contender too. With overclocking thrown into the equation, it's anybody's game.

In case somebody wants to see a real review-

Your statement is correct except they have always been a joke

[QUOTE="V4LENT1NE"]People are showing their true colours in this thread, quite a shame really to see that its not much about who delivers the best peformance but more so about which company you support despite what they release.V4LENT1NE

Not buying from a company because it is unethical is very common for people that have morals.

Also don't forget to put on your helmet when you go outside.

Its just business, deal with it. Thanks for the comment on the end there to, but hey I should have expected it reading most of your other posts.

It's unethical business. There's a difference and that's why I am inferring that you ride the short bus, as you can't distinguish the two.

either that or you are a career criminal

I would wait for the next set of drivers for this card to iron things out. Its faster then a GTX 580 and is cheaper, but its on par with a 7870 and at times nearly as fast as the 7950. Now for the Overclocking headroom is good and it allows the 660ti to approach GTX 670 range of performance. The 192bit memory bus is what kills this card at resolutions at or above 1080. They should have used 256bit and chances are that you would be definitely seeing what Nvidia claimed.04dcarraher

Yeah it's got like 140GB/s memory bandwidth, but my 6950 has 160GB/s

Hard drives aren't that good for long term back up as they fail often unless you are going to mirror them

tbh I've never had a harddrive fail on me and trust me I have a lot of them (ex & internal) tc, I have a My Book Studio II (2TB) which is still going strong after I think 2 years now and I also have a My Book Live (1tb) which also still works great after I think about a year... I think that all 'My books' use Caviar green harddrives so I'd say go for it

not more than me

[QUOTE="mitu123"] Ah that company is sick!

Brean24

Problem is that people dont realize that AMD was on the ropes from 2006 to 2010 because they were not allowed to use new cpu tech that wasavailable because intel bought all the rights/designs"patents". FX series cpu's were their first real *new* architecture since 2005, AMD has always had to be inventive and look forward to offer something equal or better then intel and when Athlon 64's came out intel was caught off guard. Which is why Intel tried to push AMD into the ground to prevent them from gaining some of the pie. And since AMD is getting back one of the guys that helped create the Athlon 64's they might get back on track.

Considering Bulldozer was a complete bomb, I doubt they are going to beat Intel anytime soon.

It was less of a bomb than the willamette p4s

Okay so I have an Alienware M11x, which I have had problems with since the beginning, and my problem is that sometimes certain games don't run too well. My Windows Experience Index is 5.3 (which is my lowest score, the others are 5.4, 5.4, 5.9, and 6.5). Yet somehow i can't play Mass Effect 3 without absurd amounts of lag (it says Mass Effect 3 only requires a score of 4, remember that my lowest score is 5.3). My question is that does anyone know how to fix this or what to do? I will post my system information below and also I'm not exactly a computer genius so try not to overwhelm me with too many long words. Windows 7 System Type - x64-based PC Processor - Intel Core i7 CPU, U 640 @ 1.20GHz, 1200 Mhz, 2 Cores, 4 Logical Processors That's all I could find that might be useful, let me know if there's anything else you need to know about my laptop.frederikviljar
