Also FPSes have the youngest audience, the playerbase for minecraft is mid 20s

quake live age group is 18-30 ;>

superior quake live race

also do any of you think microsoft cares about what these ppl think? Microsoft is the one in control, not these companies lol.
People aren't going to give up windows to go to OSX or Lunix just because a few companies don't like win8.

Yeah but quake came out when the people who are 30 were teenagers

[QUOTE="Marfoo"] You're contradicting yourself. You just pitched a laptop as being a reason why the X51 was bad and that would be easily more expensive than X51. When you buy an X51 or a laptop, you pay for the mobility. The X51 is an exception in the usual Alienware lineup because it has no close substitutes. It's a desktop with mobility like no other. The rest of the lineup, yeah knock it all you want.Marfoo

If you are going to dump the cash, may as well get a laptop. The crappy x51 serves no purpose except the make troll threads in gamespot

You just contradicted yourself once again. You just agreed that price is always a factor and then suggested a more expensive option. You just "dumping the cash" on a high-end laptop is the EXACT same thing as people just "dumping the cash" on a slim desktop like X51.

reading comprehension fail

the x51 is outgunned in every way by any device that specialized in anything.

Mobility

Power

You need to pick one.

There are smaller cases you can get, and as to whether they are are ugly or not is completely subjective.

Laptops are more mobile and some of the "gaming" laptops are as powerful if not more than x51s

and any midtower self built system will be better.

And when you get to the point of modding the x51, may as well go all out and mod a whole system. Hell I used to have a computer in a cardboard box, I have friends that have their components bolted to the wall sans case. I know someone with their computer inside a tank with oil as coolant.

[QUOTE="ShoTTyMcNaDeS"]I was wondering why it is that all of you love to hate on this machine so much? I mean I will outright admit I am no computer expert and could never, ever piece and part a PC together. However, from a laymens view point, the Alienware X51 seems to be a very good set up for some great PC gaming. The only true "weakness" I see would be the 330 watt PSU. The only reason i say that is from everything I hear you all say about you guys owning 650 watt or higher CPU's! So please enlighten me from a non PC snob/Alienware hater viewpoint why the X51 is just so simply horrible?GTR12

That's exactly why we hate it.

the uninitiated think that it is a good system when in reality it is a mediocre system at best. Everyone that buys it thinks they are getting a lexus when they are getting a honda with lexus decals.

Uhhh whats wrong with a honda? you could have said a morris-miner :P

Do you know what mediocre means? Hondas are midrange cars, alienwares are mid range computers with an expensive case.

If there were lexus kit cars. The equivalent of alienware would be a honda car in a lexus kit.

[QUOTE="adamosmaki"][QUOTE="C_Rule"] Don't take advice from him... He's and idiot. welroon
AMD had a few issues years ago concerning drivers . Nowdays their drivers are as good as nvidia so it will be stupid to dismiss AMD offerings and look only nvidia offerings ( same goes of course the other way as well ). Just look for cards that offer the best bang for your buck and dont be a fanboy . Right now if you are gonna go high end nvidia with 670 is hard to beat. But if you are looking for a card around the $250 mark Amd has 7850/70 while nvidia has yet to release its equivalent product . As for the $150-200 price point there are alot of cards from both companies ( gtx 560/ 560ti/ AMD 6870/ 6950 ). Finally when comes to $100 price point Nvidia really dont have anything worthwhile unlike AMD's 6850 and 7770

Thank you for taking the time to respond, this was very helpful. I've done some research myself and I agree with you, it seems Nvidia does not seem to have as much to offer for lower end or mid-range cards as they do higher end cards. It seems for people on a budget AMD is the way to go. I'm not a fanboy, just dont have alot of money to spend on something that might be way more than I need right now power wise anyway.

high end AMD and nvidia are basically equivalent at the same price points. Its just the nvidia low end that is a joke

Okay this whole Chick-Fil-A boycott controversy has got me thinking. Now I am a christian and I too believe in the biblical relationships between man and woman, I don't agree with the homosexual lifestyle. HOWEVER, I am not a bigot or a person that goes around gay bashing, in fact I have a family member that is gay My family is mostly made up of christians and we still love my gay family member but he knows we don't agree with his lifestyle. I know christians are getting a bad rap as being bigots etc but not all of us are the over the top crazy types. I hate the sin, not the person.Anyway, now Chick- Fil-A makes a statement standing by their beliefs and people act all offended. Its no secret that Chick is a christian owned company (hello, they are closed on Sundays) so I think its really dumb that people are boycotting them for their beliefs.

The media and lots of other people are calling the bigots and attacking their facebook page etc. Just because someone is a christian and beleives in what the bible says about marriage, that doesn't mean they are a hateful person. I mean we are still in America right? We aren't allowed to have freedom of religion anymore?? Its like if your not accepting homosexuality with open arms, you deemed a terrible person really. The way things are now, it will soon by a crime to have christian beliefs. It's just shocking to me........... So what do you think? Is it more acceptable to be homosexual than it is to be a christian in today's society?

djshowstopper87

1) The bible also says that marriage should only be your last resort if you can't deal with abstinence.

2) How does gay people being gay affect you?

3) Marriage is a legal contract. I see no problem with homophobic churches not marrying gay couples. But that is a spiritual contract. Gays want the legal one.

4) Chik fil a has every right to be as bigoted as they want. However everyone has the right to boycott them for being bigots.

[QUOTE="dominer"]

Can you give us details or a video?

sonofsmeagle

Maynard stood behind the drum set and never left that spot the entire show. No crowd interaction. No deviation from what the recorded songs sounded like.

May as well just went to the amphitheater and listened to CDs

Didn't bother recording it

He actually goes into detail why he has very weird antics on stage during his Joe Rogan interview, For example hes very epileptic so thats the reason he turned his back to the audience for an entire show because they wouldnt stop flashing cameras even when he asked them.

doesn't change that it makes the show bad

[QUOTE="MBirdy88"] It is nothing alike. Vista & ME were ironically just "The next boring, samey Windows Desktop with the same basic functionality but with more standard bloated features. Windows 8 is less bloated than 7, while opens up cloud syncronised computing, lots of nice new user freindly additions (E.G what Felip has said.) and will now make it so we have a good, familiar experiance across all devices. But yea, you will say thats the same thing, but we both know it isnt. Either way, Metro is now on their phones, their tablets, and even the Xbox. the haters are going to lose, and wether it works with windows 8 or windows 9 , metro will remain the face of windows from now on. Go to the poorly supported linux, or closed off mac os x ... oh wait, even with the "Catastrophy" that supposedly is windows 8, it is still by far THE best choice, all the goodness of 7, with all the goodness of modern computing.MBirdy88

Just because in your post you say people secretly know these false things to be true doesn't make them true.

Nice try though with trying to argue without making points.

You made no points your self mate. and you made the claim. How is any of Felip's hype even similar to Vista/ME when they did not introduce new devices, or a new aspect of computing that is skyrocketing in popularity? they didn't , windows 8 is. You really are bad at this, just stop posting.

You and I both know that you know exactly what I am talking about.
