[QUOTE="GummiRaccoon"]My phone already notifies me when any of those things occur. I am not just sitting at my computer waiting for twitter feeds and messages on facebook to roll in. If I am out, I already know if I have any communication before I even sit at my computer, so there is no need to check it and if I am sitting at my computer, either playing a game or doing work, I can just check my phone in its cradle when it chimes or my jelly bean tablet which is also in a position for easy access.
"Gee I hope someone sends me an e-mail right now!"
Live tiles would have been a 3rd party app, if that was anything that anyone other than felipe wanted.
And no, I don't want everything integrated into windows, because microsoft doesn't know how to integrate things into windows. it took until IE 9 for them to even get the web browser right.
Microsoft is way late to the party and I can already do what metro does without changing my windows 7 experience which is the first windows experience that was actually nice.

It's not only Live Tiles. The Search Function is vastly improved in Windows 8. The integration and synchronization across devices is an awesome idea (if MS get it right and it works as promised). It also has a faster boot up but the Instant Restore function would be interesting to those gamers that like to format every few months. Live I've said before, you don't have to upgrade but I don't personally think Win8 will be a disaster either. On my gaming PC I'm sticking with Win7, but I can't wait to buy the Microsoft Surface so I can write on these forums from my couch watching TV :)
