Industry analyst Daniel Ahmad of Niko Partners weighed in on the news on Twitter, pointing out that microtransactions and loot boxes are not going away. "They're already accepted," he said. "All that's happening is EA tweaking the system to make it 'fun and addictive" instead of 'intrusive and predatory."

Key word in this analysis is that they want to make the "system" ADDICTIVE (gambling...*cough cough*)! This is only an effort to portray themselves as caring about their player base, yet it is simply a diversionary tactic to get game sales up so they can turn they system back on! DO NOT BUY THIS GAME! It is a PR trap they've laid for you!

What an asinine response! The bulk of the criticism came at release, which if they're willing to admit, were warranted.

"I think the game is actually a great game. Yes, we have to acknowledge the fact that there were some things that maybe we could have done better, absolutely, but as a whole, if you go in and you buy the game today with everything that's in it today, I believe that that's a game worth buying, personally."

Admit you screwed up, and passed this off to a D studio, and while you've patched some of the animation and other absurd glitches, the complaints at launch were absolutely valid, so don't run your mouth off defending it in its current state, when the "harsh" criticism at launch was completely valid. You should be ashamed and embarrassed of yourselves EA and Bioware, to create a game in an unfinished state only to cash in on the series fans loved.

It is absolutely stupid in my opinion to have timed releases for betas. Considering that they're suppose to diagnose potential issues, yet only the ps4 will have the beta at first. If you're a cross platform game STOP with this timed exclusive crap!

While very few probably play FIFA 14 right now, this breaks what they said earlier that vault games would not be removed. There is a difference in no longer supporting it and allowing only offline play (that would be fine), but to remove the game completely from the vault is a flat out lie on their part. This sets the precedent for other games to now be removed. What's next battlefield 3? We were promised that no games would be removed and now you've lied to us. Shame on you EA! You obviously have no ethical standards! Rethink this approach. If you want to pull support for the game fine, but it should still be downloadable and playable in the offline modes!

Nope, nope, and nope! This is an absolute money grab and a slap in the face to Treyarch's loyal zombie fans. I can play these on my 360 or xbone with backwards compatibility. Such a shame concerning what the gaming industry has become!

Like all games now a days, I will wait before purchasing. If people would wait to see if games are worth their money, we'd see a lot less angry faces out there, and maybe developers and publishers would stop with this nickel and dime garbage on unfinished games.

I didn't buy the last battlefront, and was disappointed that the quality of the game (and its content) wasn't good enough to warrant me spending $60, despite being a star wars fan. Admittedly the trailer looks great, but time will tell if EA can actually deliver. I've been patient about buying games for the past few years and it has dramatically reduced buyer's remorse for me.

It is nice to see the option potentially coming to xbox. I've used the refund policy on steam once, and that was for a game that turned out to be poorly optimized. Steam's policy of 2 hours and less than 2 weeks is fair and works well. My only hope is that if it does come to xbox, that it works smoothly like steam's.
