@max6910: Since it's Pay 2 Win anyway, they should just have a high-priced microtransaction that lets you ban the player of your choice. Mainly cheaters will get banned. Maybe.
Even if it's all leading to something, there's no way it would be worth such a waste of time. Maybe only if it was going to end in me getting free shares of Blizzard stock or something.
@catsimboy: That kind of sucks then. I think that having weapons be too fragile would be fun as a game mechanic if they would just give Link some moves that would allow him to quickly pick something up and immediately start swinging it, or counter attacks that disarm enemies. They could look at games like Prince of Persia: Warrior Within or even Borderlands to see ways to do this well.
"The best mainline Final Fantasy games are the ones that distinguish themselves as epic RPGs that can be appreciated on their own, apart from other installments in the series."
I found this statement funny, considering there are only about 4 that have anything to do with any other game, and they are all billed as direct sequels. I guess about 80% of them are the best in the series.
@metalion: I don't see any harm in adding moves, as long as they don't radically change the inputs for the old ones. That way you can just stick to the original moves by choice if you like it that way.
So what is "indie" short for anyway? I always thought it was "independent", but if major corporations can use the term, it must just mean "lower budget". Unless they somehow completely surrender control to the developers, which I don't believe they would really do.
@JustPlainLucas: It says both "Destiny" and "Activision" right on the box. If you bought the game and are surprised that this is happening, then you are the same sort of person who needs the warning label on bleach not to drink it or put it in your eyes.
@Xristophoros: I just meant for games in general. I've had Heavy Rain in my backlog for a while, glad I'll be pleasantly surprised with that one. Most other times when I hear devs tout choices in a game, it's like "Oh look, my guy's powers make either blue or red energy now". Or there's like one different dialog response.
Although I'm sure that the gravity of your choices will still be very underwhelming by the time the game actually releases, the detective adventure gameplay actually sounds interesting.
