@chris91090: Luckily, their boss is ActiBlizzin and their job is to do exactly what they are doing. The only guy that might be in trouble is whoever is in charge of thinking up damage control statements so that they have excuses to continue.
@pcps4xb: Unless Sony's Electronics business has turned around, they're actually in more trouble than Xbox. Xbox could lose money forever and Microsoft would never run out of money from their other businesses. Sony's other divisions could still tank the company even if Playstation is doing fantastic.
@john_coronado: The media and gamers you speak of are the 20% who are nerdy enough to follow this stuff on the Internet, and even plenty of them seem to like it. Xbox is more geared toward the gamers who see a Madden commercial during an NFL game and just need that one game so they can pretend to be like their NFL heroes on the field. And then later maybe GTA5 so they can experience what NFL stars do off the field.
@sealionact: Exactly my point. Most of the Xbox fans agree with you, so why would MS need to develop more different exclusives? It's probably why Scalebound was cancelled.
Each of them have their own audience now, and people with diverse taste in games will either buy two consoles or play on PC.
People who bitch about MS not making more new first-party titles don't seem to understand that not all consoles are supposed to be the same.
@DARREN636: Concentrating on their user base is exactly what they are doing. Their fan base is 90% dudebros, and casuals who only buy their one racing/sports/FPS game per year.
Publishing more exclusives that resemble Sony's games would be an attempt to either expand or change the user base.
@xiricon: I don't play many shooters, so maybe I'm mistaken, but I thought the same thing. Also, isn't Overwatch exactly the same as this but gets universal praise for it?
@nefphlegm: Most of them do look cool. I am also more likely to buy DLC if it is a game where the devs keep adding things and I want to support them, like Path Of Exile. It helps if the base game is cheap or free.
@nefphlegm: They're the reason I don't buy Capcom fighting games new anymore. I wait until I can get everything on a good enough sale that it will all add up to approximately the $60 that the game was new.
@lostn: You don't have to care about The Witcher to support them. Next time you're looking for an older game or an indie, check if it's on GOG and they'll get the money off you can buy it from there.
