@Thanatos2k: They only won because everyone who voted is a stupid child. All EA ruins is video games, and they beat out companies who pollute the world we live in or monopolize the food industry to try to squeeze out all independent farming. Some of the real people they took the title from could have been villains in the games we play.
@xnshd: I don't think progression is as important in a game like Battlefield. The main draw there for many players is that they find it fun to shoot stuff and yell like a moron into a headset. The reason microtransactions are so successful in those games is because progressing your character is a barrier before you get to the fun part, instead of part of the fun.
@xnshd: I think it's more fair to say that RPGs (including action games that borrow heavily from the RPG genre) aren't for them. There are other genres where they can be happy gaming, and EA or Activision will be more than happy to cater to them.
@blue_hazy_basic: That's what's BS about it. In a sim, it SHOULD effect gameplay. There should maybe be boosts from LGBT fans, but also controversy represented in some way. If everything is black and white, it's a shallow simulation.
@a7x_kill_la_kill: On consoles maybe. On PC you just need a good modding scene, or a game that varies enough with each playthrough that it stays interesting if you want to start it again occasionally to make a game last.
Every microtransaction from the mobile game will come with a free line of code for Animal Crossing on Switch. The only way to buy the game is to collect them all!
