@sol_invictus55 They already had game of the year awards. This year also had some quite notably bad releases, so it seems like good content for a show.
Solid list. I'm surprised Ashes Cricket didn't win #1 though, probably because it was such a limited appeal niche title. A game that was attempted to be sold off as a complete product and then when it received massive backlash was later removed, refunded, and apologized for (whoops, you caught us!), is a pretty bad game.
Honestly, for a family gaming platform, the Wii U isn't a bad choice. I would certainly encourage just grabbing an Xbox controller and playing on PC, as the library available is massively bigger, but the Wii U at least now has a nice assortment of games available, and if you already owned a Wii and several controllers, not a bad option for upgrading for your family TV console.
Of course, there are only a handful of games, but they're distinctly nostalgic Nintendo and generally high quality. You might be better off with a laptop running the large library of local co-op games on PC via HDMI and a couple Xbox controllers, but for the average Joe, grabbing a Wii U and a few games isn't a bad option at all, especially if the few games you like to play are Nintendo franchises.
I'll never give up my 1080p/60fps of my PC, which even next gen consoles are rarely hitting with performance. Not to mention, the ability to buy games for digital download for fractions of the cheapest prices on consoles. And thankfully most big releases come to PC these days and have Xbox controller support.
Nothing against consoles, love my PS4, but PC is always my first choice. More games, better resolutions, better frames per second, more control over your games, mods, cheaper games, it's really the best platform in my opinion.
