I can't catch a break!

I'm in a situation right now that just caught me off guard and exposed me to several open blows at once. Now, I'm officially co-dependent on my parents and that doesn't help at all. I woke up today and found out that a someone close to me(I won't say)was put into jail because of a DUI with my car! The family puts up bail money and guess who reaches deeper into his bank account to pull some cash out? Me. The same money I was saving up that would have me back on my feet again!

Then the...how am I going to pay for college...and...I need a new job...etc, etc. It's all been hounding me all day. Plus I have no car to drive! Do I really have to take this dangerous job with a PMC(I have my second interview tomorrow)? The only good thing I can say right now is, at least I'm not in debit. It seems like in the past year, I simply can't catch a break. I don't want to take out loans for college, and certainly don't want to borrow money period. I just don't know what to do. It makes me feel helpless. :(

Update: OK! I'm getting my money back because the bail was under $500. It wasn't a DUI, but drunk in public so I get my car back. ::high-five::

Update 2: The person who had my car right before he was arrested said that my vehicle was left in a parking lot. Nope. I have to pay..or he...has to pay $200 to get it out.

What's on your iPod?

I want to know what kind of music you like listening to, and what you're currently enjoying. I was reading lightwarrior179's blog, and he purchased the new U2 album. And immediately I realized that it has been a long time since I bought anything music-related. No, I do not steal music off the internet. I actually use iTunes a lot and my local music stores.

Even though I have a lot of music to listen to, I am always looking for new things. Since I'm asking for recommendations, here's one of mine:

Circa Survive. The credentials and origins of the band members come from the emo, hardcore, and screamo sound. And their background contains past associations with Saosin, This Day Forward, and Taken. Yet, Circa Survive sounds nothing like any previous acts its members have worked on. In fact there isn't a band out there today that sounds like them. With that said it's still strange that they're not like anything they've done before.

I can only say that "experimental" rock plays a big part with this band. And experiment they do because they make it know that it's not all about heavy rifts. But! Great vocals(even some of the highest notes) can play alongside instrumental intensity. But they also focus on harmonic and ambient sounds associated with metaphoric lyrics.

They're also the perfect example of creative freedom versus major labels. Circa Survive has been approached by a few major labels over the past couple years, but so far have turned down offers so they can create the music they want to make. At the same time I hope it doesn't hurt them.

Ahhhh!

::stands up in claps::

Oh my goodness! Someone get me some water and poor it on top of me because the heat from the Carolina Hurricanes is just too much right now. They now have 6 back-to-back wins, and have moved into 4th place in the Eastern Conference! And Saturday nights game: GOOD LORD, THANK YOU! It was pretty much New Jersey's notable goalie, Martin Brodeur versus the Carolina Hurricane's young rising star goalie, Cam Ward. This game was so intense. Both Ward and Brodeur were flying thru the air to make highlight saves. Check this saveCam Ward made when Zack Parise got a rebound on his forehand.

It was only a 2-1 game in favor of the Canes; but man the crowd was just going nuts as if they were watching a Montreal game. I was watching the highlights at NHL.com and man...people were just banging on the glass and *(&*^ in hopes of NJ scoring against Carolina. And the booing..geez! I thought they were going to come on the ice to help the Devils.

EDIT: Oh yeah; I found the Tuomo Ruutu hit on Christoph Schubert in the Carolina game with the Senators. THIS *&^&IS HARD!

As far as gaming goes. I am going to agree with what my pal LW said about MGS stealth mechanics. Not entirely, but I will still agree with him. What do you want me to do Metal Gear Solid? Do you want me to use my tranq. gun, hide in the grass, cut throats...what? It's all of the above...but in all honesty I just can't get over being spotted from long distances when that wasn't possible before in the series(I'm playing MGS3 right now). Plus there's no *&*& radar.

Time to eat some snakes.

I completed both Metal Gear Solid and Sons of Liberty. This franchise has always been interesting to me but at the same time it likes to throw you in so many different directions. Sometimes I feel like I can not comprehend what the hell is going on. More so with Metal Gear Solid 2 and its long cut scenes towards the end.

I'll be playing Snake Eater and after that then some Portable Ops. Once I get done with both of those games I'll be getting back to current generation consoles with the series. Yes, I mean Guns of the Patriots for the Playstation 3 which I am very anxious to play. The ending of Sons of Liberty was just too weird. Not even Final Fantasy VII or the Silent Hill franchise forced you to think that hard.

Will I go back and play Sons of Liberty? Probably not. But I am looking forward to playing Snake Eater. Before I end this, there is one character that is absolutely annoying, and that is Rose.

Tagged again!

Man. I have a few things to say in this blog entry and I was tagged again! So let's get started. I started playing the Metal Gear Solid franchise, and I just beat the first game! Now I'm on Sons of Liberty playing Raiden...not Snake for those of you who like correcting people. I got to play this on Very Easy; I don't have time to find computers that allow me to use radar. For one, I keep falling asleep while playing.

Am I the only one who likes the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII? I'm afraid so. Of course I know the game's world has changed so much, and that Dirge of Cerberus is horrible. But I love Cloud and company like a child loves his teddy bear(especially at night, because I won't let go). Nomura hinted at Square Enix creating ideas for the next entry into the Compilation and I simply can't wait. Plus Advent Children Complete is going to have Denzel's story from On the Way to a Smile but as an anime! I really want to see this simply because they revisit Midgar and the Sector 7 incident.

Also, ever since I started playing MGS, I received a couple of job offers from a few private military companies. One wants me to tour southern Asia for 6 months doing "whatever". I don't think I'll do it again especially if it's in a hostile environment. Unless there is some serious cash involved. I know PMCs pay their employees overseas more then US soldiers are paid; and normally that money comes from the US government.

The Carolina Hurricanes won their 5th in a row with another point shot by the young Anton Babchuk. This kid can shoot, and in general the Hurricanes allow their defense to fire lasers. Both Babchuk and Joe Corvo have had prominent roles this month as offensive defensemen. Not to mention Ruutu pounded one of the Ottawa players into the ice while he had his head down in the neutral zone and he did not get up quickly.

Ok now another 15 random things about me:

1. I'm sick of changing my aspect ratio on my HDTV to play PSOne and PS2 games properly. I should have gotten a PS3 with backwards compatibility.

2. I notice I can be rude sometimes. You know how you notice something(like someone having no arms) and you make this really faint joke. Then people look at you with their mouth open as if to say...JOSH! But then they start laughing too. That guy with no arms was being a *&^^ anyway.

3. I carry my iPod everywhere!

4. I found myself watching South Park more, and I never...ever....watch that show.

5. I'm curently reading a Brave New World by Aldous Huxley.

6. Tonight I had Subwayfor dinner.

7. The Airforce has been trying to recruit me to visual information.

8. I want to go to the UK BBoy Summit or Juste Debout one day.

9. Even in my first year of high school I use to think sex was a nasty way to reproduce.

10. For some reason I can't put down NHL 09!

11. I can't find my debit card!

12. Blue is my favorite color(look at my blue shoes in my images)!

13. I wanted to fly airplanes until I found out I hated rollcoasters.

14. I've been FFVII RPing on the internet(AOL) with the say group of people since 2003(or 02). My character was a Shinra military police officer from e1-e9 in the Echo division(maritime/naval force) for 4 of his roleplaying years. Upon getting his comissioned rank as an Ensign he was sent to Aeronavy(elite aerial supremacy). Now he wears a formal military attire, with a polearm, and he can use Jump!

15. Pizza is the best!

Twilightlullaby, and Amnesiac23. You two are tagged.

Moving on up!

My favorite NHL hockey team, the Carolina Hurricanes are moving on up in the Eastern Conference! They sit in 5th place after winning their 4th in a row against division rivals, the Florida Panthers! They have the 3rd best record in the NHL right now after the trade deadline! It looks like we're going to the playoffs! That's for everyone doubting us; in your face!

[NHL 09 - I'm a first star!]

As some of you may know I normally play NHL 09 when the Carolina Hurricanes have a game. With that said, my defenseman doesn't have the insane amount of points like other gamers who play it every single day. Not to mention I "only" play defense online. Considering all that, and the real NHL my point sheet is really good. I just received my 21st goal of the season, and I have 97 assist. And tonight is my 3rd game of the season in the EASHL where I was a first star. All I could hear was the announcers saying:

Williams's goal, that's going to be big-

What a nasty hit Williams delivered on him!

Williams has been laying his body down for the puck all night!

Needless to say I scored 2 goals and gained 2 assist in a 4-1 win! Plus I had 21 hits; watch out Dion Phaneuf! Also, EA Sports is really getting sophisticated with commentary in their games. And I think all night in between plays most of the highlight involved me hitting someone, scoring a goal, taking a close shot on net, or me skating around with stats on screen for the night(I was shoving it in my teammate's faces). All my teammates were even nice enough(while making fun of me) to set me up for a shot in the 3rd period for a hat trick but all I got was the post! DRGHHH!

[MGS-a-thon]

Yep. I opened the MGS Essentials Collection and started playing the three games so I can be prepared for Metal Gear Solid 4, which is $50 at Wal-Mart by the way! I just beat Sniper Wolf in Metal Gear Solid and I am about to switch disks. I totally forgot how much I enjoy the atmosphere of this series. I might put every other gameon hold and just play with Solid Snake until I beat MGS4.

[Taken, film]

Liam Neeson is a bad ass! He was Darkman, a Jedi Knight, the lion in Narnia, and he fought Batman. Not only that, he even taught Batman. If you want to see another action pack movie with him as the star you NEED to pick up Taken. Taken is a film where Neeson plays a father and a ex-special operative. When his 17 year old daughter visits France, she is kidnapped and put into a slave/sex trade of sorts for woman. Liam Neeson gets personal, and does not let up. He ^&^&% up everyone in this movie! DON'T MESS WITH HIS DAUGHTER! If you like the Bourne series you'll definitely love Taken, especially the way it's shot, and the close quarters combat. I'm definitely getting this on Blu-Ray.

Online Gaming: free or not?

Everyone wants to know why Xbox Live gold members have to pay for an online service and Sony customers get off scott free. I'm going to break it down for everyone. It's all about maintaining a service and the method of doing so. Both Sony and Microsoft take a different approach to supporting their online networks.

In general, developers are in love with Xbox Live simply because it's cost efficient for them. Every game released since Microsoft got into the console business that has or had downloadable content or online multiplayer is still connected to Live. Not only that but Microsoft ensures that they remain online. This means that games like Knights of the Old Republic still have their DLC available on Live today, and Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge can be played online.

Developers are privileged enough to only pay a one-time installation fee, and Microsoft will maintain a videogame's servers and content as long as Xbox Live is online. Of course developers can also make their own adjustments as well. So instead of Capcom, EA, and Bungie paying to maintain their own servers; Gold subscribers are force to pay $50 a year to make up their expenses. The positive side is, developer aren't hesitant about putting DLC content on Live or including online options for the Xbox 360 games. In fact Square Enix has even considered applying some sort of online feature to Final Fantasy XIII on the 360

With that said, it's entirely the opposite for gamers owning a Playstation 3. You benefit with playing games online for free, but developers are forced to run their own servers since Sony doesn't do it for them. This is a reason why you don't see cross-voice chatting and what not on the PS3 simply because each server isn't co-dependent. The servers over at EA are certainly not connected to Activision-Blizzard as well. It's also less cost-efficient for developers which has them picking up the bandwidth-tab instead of Sony.

Much like Microsoft, the Japanese company charges developers a one-time installation fee(mainly for content on the PSN Store). Also, for the first couple of months for any DLC content that is hosted by Sony has a bandwidth cost for developers. Every GB consumed by gamers(demos, movies, add-ons, etc) cost $0.16 for developers. So if 3 million PSN users downloaded the RE5 demo prior to the games release, that's a little bit less then $400,000 Capcom is shelling out too Sony.

For gamers there are only two real negatives to Sony's way of doing things. Developers do to take a second guess with DLC content and online multiplayer. Plus, if a game looses popularity or server maintenance becomes expensive the games online component could be shut off for good(PS2 games for example). So even if PSN gets bigger like Xbox Live, unlike Microsoft's service games are still threaten with loosing connectivity in the future.

On the PC, it's the same way as the PS3. BUT! Getting extra content and video is simply universal. You're not just going to one company for all your online needs. You might have to connect to Steam to play Team Fortress 2 online, but only because of copyright laws. That too cost money for Valve. Connecting to a developer's network to prevent piracy is more common these days then ever before on the PC. You could connect to a lone-sharks server to plan an illegal copy of a game, but the person who's hosting that is also paying extra cash so you do not have to agree with a TOS.

The reason why I brought this up was simply because of Ace Combat 6's online multiplayer on the Xbox 360. During the weekday there is little to no activity when it comes to online dogfights. And you might not even be lucky to find an online session or two during the weekend. I was wondering, if that game was available on the PS3 would it's servers for online multiplayer be shutdown?

I've been tagged!

::HIGH FIVE::

There's another Carolina Hurricanes game on right now for the 2nd time this week. I normally would have to wait late into the night even if it was a home game around 7pm ET because of college basketball. We're' winning right now, but Eric Staal became injured.

Ok. I was tagged by Amanda so I have to list 15 random things about myself:

1. I am a military brat; my dad was in the Navy for 20 years.

2. During the first couple months of a new year I have upper respiratory problems sometimes.

3. I've seen a real KKK meeting in the woods of Northern Virginia at night.

4. I've had a GS account since 2003, but I started using it in 2006.

5. My entire family was born in the south, I was born in New Hamsphire.

6. I hate spiders so much...so....*^&%^...much...

7. I've seen a victim of the DC sniper.

8. I hate talking on the phone unless I need to.

9. My first fight ever was in a hockey game during high school.

10. I hate rollercoasters!

11. I'm the youngest in my extended family.

12. When I go to a Hurricanes game I always end up on TV acting stupid.

13. My first taste of alcohol was at the age of 21.

14. I accidentally shot a girl with a dart in 3rd grade.

15. I have a copy of the original Rez with the "female-toy" attachment.

I'm going to tag volcomstoner180, KityKIttyCatCat, Gamer4life, Flipyap28, and billybobbarvis. You have to list 15 things about yourself that people might not know. Billybobbarvis, we don't need to know the size of your *&^% whether you have one or not. ROFL.

The Tattoo Story..

Here's the story everyone wanted to hear. Before, I get into it for those who don't know. It does involve a female body part and a tattoo. Since I got that out of the way let's get on with it. When I was middle school in Connecticut I had my first real crush and at the sametime she was way out of my league. Still, middle school relationships don't last long anyway. I moved away during my freshman year of high school.

Last Summer a old friend found me on Myspace from Connecticut. Since I added him to my friends list, all sorts of people started trying to get in touch with me. One day I log in, and I see "her" at the age of 22 instead of 12. By the way her name is Rebecca. We exchanged some messages back and forth. Later on Rebecca told me that she would be passing through Charleston heading to Florida. The face on her had not changed, but her body did.

The night she was in South Carolina, we went downtown to Charleston. Some of her friends andsome of mine came as well. Men are visual creatures. I would like to say God made man like that; no he did not. Then again, women wear things to attract attention. And women are notorious for wearing outfits that excentuate certain body parts. In middle school, boys are just discovering the opposite sex. I am way beyond that, and Rebecca did not have a apple-bottom in middle school. Plus she was wearing this short black dress that cut off at the thighs and that made it even harder to keep your eyes above the waist line. And she still had her English accent, but this time she sounded like a grown woman.

After you start to drink, you loosen up a bit. I remember her and I were in this corner talking about tattoo's. I told her I was scared of needles and that's the reason why I don't have one. Rebecca told me she had one, and so I asked her if I could see it. Little did I know that it would be on her fanny. She didn't tell me! What she did was lift that booty hunging dress up. THIS IS IN PUBLIC, but I'm not sure if anyone else saw. It was a red rose, and she let me look at itlonger then I should have. Almost as if to say, take a good look while you can. You know how you get that shiver when something is too good? Got that chill. My response was, that's "really" nice..that's nice.

Opposites attract for some reason. If you have really taken a liking to some who is clearly different from you physically, you might find their personality interesting as well. But there's this physical attraction you find exotic. Literally that night she was holding Black-Man's kryptonite(or you could say she was it). Laugh all you want, but I was feeling weak! Needless to say, things turned out better then I thought.

MadGirl on MadWorld?

Many of you know that over the past week I've been on a gaming binge. I bought a PS3, Warhawk, Killzone 2, and LittleBigPlanet. I also picked Resident Evil 5 for the Xbox 360, and I've been play Final Fantasy XII again as well. Also I purchased MadWorld too, and I've been enjoying every minute of it. It's one of those games that has mindless and out of control violence. You sometimes ask yourself why does a game need to be this crazy? Then there's the funny toilet humor on top of that. Regardless of the mature image it carries, MadWorld is just too much fun.

At the samtime I am getting the idea that the game is extremely short. It really follows the old school beat em' up formula. It has linear levels which throw waves of enemies at you with the final boss at the end. And of course you'll experience some horrific mini-games that are absolute blood baths during your session. But the actual gameplay is satisfying, and you might replay it again just too shower your TV screen red.

With that said, I almost passed out last night while watching a few young ladies I know play MadWorld. You see...I was knocked up side the head with a arm swing holding a Wii Remote. And it even had the rubber grip on it! Not once, but TWICE! What the hell! And they laughed at my pain. If it wasn't for the mini-afro I have right now(yes, I have one) the knot on the back of my head wouldn't be so small.
