A long time ago I played an RPG for the PS1. It was a Japanese RPG with cartoonish graphics and a name that I remember as starting with T. I don't really remember anything else about the game, but I sure wish I did because I really dug it.

There were some pretty great RPGs that came out on ye olde PS1. I'm just going to have to be lame and boring and say FF7 is my favourite from that console. It's a great title.

I also think there was an Azure Dreams game on the PS1. I hated it when I played it, but who knows, maybe it wasn't as bad as I recall.

This was tough to choose, but here's my five favourite, but not in order of prefence. I couldn't decide. 1. Warcraft 2 2. System Shock 2 3. Fallout 4. Age of Mythology 5. Codename Outbreak How many of you cats ever got to play Codename: Outbreak? That game was one badly made, rushed out rubbish but there's just never been enough FPS with that kind of Co-Op gameplay.

I immediatly thought "Heavenly Sword!" But wait... The game is so cinematic, it's halfway there already. Why bother making a movie out of it which would more or less just be the cutscenes spliced together? In fact, all the games I would suggest are the games that are already very cinematic games - MGS (any of them) is another example of pointless adaptations. Let's not forget that most movies based on games also suck. I can really only think of one. So, if you think about it, games are written and designed and made to be games, not movies. Trying to make a movie out of a game is ye olde square peg in a round hole. Or at best, a roung peg in a square hole - Even though it works, the results feel sub par.

Metal Gear Solid on the GBC is kind of strange. It's like a rewrite of the PS1 MGS game. While it's not as good, the game is a very well made GBC game. You could do a lot worse if you really want an old GBC game. Of course if it's just MGS you're after, there are better options. So if you're a fan of the MGS series, then definately go for it. If you're not too familiar with the series, you could get a better introduction. Like the original PS1 version.

Sony's mascot is the PS3. Seriously, Sony's Playstation team tried to push Crash bandicoot as the mascot when the original PS came out. But that plan fell flat on its face and, being the clever clogs they are, they scrapped the whole notion. Sony doesn't have a mascot. Not Snake, Sackboy, Nathan Drake, Jak and Dextar - Nope. These are big franchises but none of them are the face of Playstation gaming. Not like Mario. Not like Sonic. I think it's a stretch to say Master Chief is Microsoft's Mascot. I don't think he makes the cut and I don't think microsoft want him to. Halo is probably the face of Xbox gaming but I don't believe that was by choice. I think that just happened in the eyes of gamers. On the other hand, Nintendo has always endorsed Mario and slapped his face all over Nintendo products and kept the series alive right from their first console. Mario has been encarnated on every console sinse then. Sonic was Sega's answer to Mario before Sega fell apart and the general populace stopped caring about Sonic. (Self not included. He'll make his come back eventually!). These days, though, even Nintendo isn't limiting themselves. Nintendo likes putting a lot of their franchises at the fore of publicity. Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Metroid - All of them can be considered a kind of mascot. But multiple mascots don't work well and the industry has all but moved on from the idea of having a mascot. Which is a good thing. Because Nintendo kept a vice grip on their mascots so long, they pidgeon holed themself. Nintendo has been looked on as the console maker for children's games. Better to keep all the fanchises on a tight leash so the console has a broader appeal.

And some of his arguements are bad. No game ever, adn I mean ever, needs a specific graphical hardware maker. Some companies do have preferences, like Valve and AMD, but you don't need an ATI card to play Valve games.

Phoenix534

when you game is praised for basically it's graphics alone such as Crysis (even though I personally found it a good game). Those really aren't bad points at all. Also, some games do run VERY badly when not using the game's recommended settings. I would know, I went from playing on a computer that was only good at running HL2 to a computer that runs Crysis on nearly highest settings possible on DX10 (apart from like one visual option that doesn't make the game look much different). Computers are expensive beasts and do require A LOT of maintenance to get the best experience of the game as possible.

The maintenance and expense of PC is highly overexaggerated. Also, half his arguement was that games wouldn't run because your graphics card was a certain brand, but no game requires you to have an ATI card to run. Same with nVidia cards.

Wrong.
