Gamespot needed a make over however instead of getting a new face lifting from the expensive and educated plastic surgeon they went to the local butcher down the street who just happened to be busy teaching his inbreed son how to be a butcher, who barely finished vet school to perform experiments even dr. Frankenstein considered disgusting. The navigation is missing or completely counter-intuitive, when a person first loads the page (if he even manages that because of the heavy load) it's a complete mess almost like a Picasso painting in his depressed stage. The scene is cluttered with unneeded drop menus who happen to overlap each other in content. It is no longer clear what is the story of the day or where anything is for that matter. The design kills itself by promoting everything possible, as opposed to having a news lane, a game of the week lane, and Gamespot pet projects lane. Quite honestly that's the 3 things you need to see when you load a page in well defined spaces and also a functional search engine. The major focus of the entire site has been heavily shifted on personalizing your profile, essentially trying to make a poor copy of facebook, but since facebook already patented the formula they figured it'd be a good idea to add bits and bolts here and there to make it different, but in doing so the design made less and less sense until they got what we got a half finished Frankenstein's monster unable to carry his load or move in any direction.
There simply is too much junk all over the place, 80% of the people who actually have an account in here don't want to do blogs, make trophies or discuss life long topics. People get in gamespot to either get entertainment made by trolls or to be trolls, the rest of the people just want to see the news and view different opinions to compare with their own. And a very small portion of those people are just nut jobs or fanatics who have nothing better to do than kill our brain cells with their flawed ideas.
If you ask me, you'd get more people on the site if you revert back to the site design from the year 2000, just plain html and div tags and some embeded videos. The fact that you are also promoting that prehistoric score system or 0 to 10, that angers absolutely everyone is also telling me you learned absolutely nothing in the past 5 years and that you will keep getting your poor employees berated and bombarded by accusations of incompetence for the next years to come if you don't remove that relic of a time when we all had dial up. But i guess you enjoy having your employees work in a hostile environment set by the very community they are trying to please.
@komuchen @Nick_Fury_Shine @Yann75 I'm envisioning free roam. Cutscenes are another topic and its not my place to put a mature rating on the game. People get paid to do that. All I'm saying is that you are given a choice. Even in picking the game its your choice. Person being ordered to press the red button also has a choice even if he is ordered to do it. It's a matter of choice.
@Yann75 The option is presented to use, kill or behave. The game is not portraying violence or anything. We are the ones that make the choices in the game. Shoot the guy in the head or pick up a prostitute. The option is just there and we get to choose. So in reality the game is just a blank slate and we are the painters printing out attitude towards it. Some ppl would drive in the wrong lane of the game because its fun or because they have road rage or another reason. Don't blame the game blame your self and society.
