I bought it today and so far I'm satisfied with my purchase. The game is great for some pick up and play fun. I've found no problems with the controlls. Gamespot was definately too harsh in their review of this game.
I love this game the way it is. The missions add content so I would keep them. The only thing I would change is make going backwards a bit easier and make all the cutscenes like the opening sequence.

Completely disagree on the crappy minigames front, I'm a big fan of the minigames on SMBB ...
I agree. If you take your time to learn the controlls and try every game in the bunch you will find that most are pretty good. Particularily the ones with the nunchuk. There are a few terrible ones that give the rest a bad name.
I'm proud to say 85 hours. Not because I suck but because I spent a lot of time exploring. I finished every side quest except the poes (I got 58 ). I beat the cave of ordeals twice to get the extra content there. I fished a lot plus I spent a lot of time riding around on Epona, shooting flocks of birds with my bow, beating the high scores on the mini-games, exploring and fighting just for the hell of it. I love Zelda games, so when I play them I try to get as much out of them as possible.
This game would be horribly boring online. There's a lot of waiting around in Mario Party Games. I love them but only when I have someone to play with. I would never play by myself against the computer and playing online would be even more tedious after you factor in the time to wait for people to take their turns. Most of the fun of Mario Party comes from drinking and laughing with friends that are actually in your living room.
