How will the PS3 look on my TV.

I am buying a PS3 on July 30th because my brothers work has employee appreciation day and I can get 20% off the PS3.

But my question is, I have a Panaonic 30 inch HDTV that only has 480p and 1080i, (I cant afford a bigger TV for now) How will the PS3 look on my TV. If games are made for 720p or 1080p and my TV doesnt support it. will it downscale the image to 480p or will it still play and look great in 1080i.

I read GI and while reading it I notice that it was talking about Halo 3 having bad graphics. I went to many game websites and checked the trailers and pics of the game but they all look bad. I want no less than Gears of War graphics so I want to know what you guys think of this situation.

I agree with you, you have just swayed my decision. I was going to buy Halo 3, but after reading this thread, I am not going to get it now. Thanks for clearing it up, I had no idea.

It's like the most pointless thing ever, I was buying a game today and they asked me like eight times if I wanna pre0order halo, gta, the movie 300.

I'm like uhh... i'm just going to buy it the day it coems out, and the guy just looked at me like you're right!

Like seriously, it's not like stuff sells out, and there are enough stores that carry whatever media I may want..

not everybody lives in a Podunk town and is unemployed. I preorder games because it is nice to get off of work around 6pm and be able to stop by gamestop and pic up the game and go right home and not have to worry about the game being sold out and having to drive to 3-4 stores to find it. I have gone without preordering a game before and Its sucks having to drive around to find it. Usually when games come out they are all gone by night time of the date of release.

I have had my 360 since launch without any problems.I haver a life and so I don't play 8 hours a day. If you get the 3 RROD it means you play way too much!!!

I heard rumors that Microsoft built the 360 to have the 3 RROD if it was played too much. Microsoft is trying to help with the obesity problem in the USA.

My brother has had an Xbox 360 since launch date, and has never expierenced a problem with his 360. THe reason why Ibelieve is becasue he only plays it a couple hours a week and has plent of air circulation.

My question is for those who have expiernced the 3 RROD. Is it due to playing too much or having the 360 running all the time? or is is just a hardware failure?

I havent heard anything from microsoft explaining the problem and they probably never will tell.
