As for the community part, ELITE will forever make Call of Duty the greatest community of all time. If you haven't checked out the amazing free features (which alone make CoD the best community of all time), I suggest you do. http://www.callofduty.com/elite Now, there will be the premium features, too, which will be for the more hardcore gamers, and will make the support for any PC game look like a joke, come November. The best thing, is that it's goingto be available for Black Ops, as well. :)CallOfDutyXxX
I was like ' Hey, this guy's got a good point. ' But then boom. :| "the support for any PC game look like a joke ". Go download Team Fortress 2, I get an update for that game nearly every, single, day. For free as well. And btw, Elite does sound pretty sweet, but you realize you've got to pay for some aspects right ? Where as Bungie and Battlefield are both doing the same thing, for free ?

[QUOTE="NiteLights"]

So let me get this straight, I used to love CoD. I still play MW1 at times, I own Black Ops and play it once in a while, but honestly, some people praise this series as if it's so amazing and revolutionary, and I'll admit, CoD has changed games forever, in a good way, but it stopped influencing the gaming industry in a good way as soon as Modern Warfare 2 came out of stores.

So, CoD Fanboys, what's so great about Call of Duty ?

Well you certainly can't say,

  • The graphics are so awesome ! Seeing as they haven't even updated the engine they used for CoD 4. that's right, over the course of five games they haven't made any improvements at all to they're engine, and no, being able to swtich scopes while playing isn't counted as an engine change. :roll: Oh, and did I mention the most destructability the engine allows is that you can shoot bullets through a sheet of metal ! :o

  • The gameplay is challenging, you have to be smart to survive ! You know, the most challenging CoD has ever gotten for me is shooting that blasted 10 year old, who's camping around the corner with his Stakeout. Oh, and he's also using every word in the english vocabulary to insult me. And the most I've had to use my brain was telling my fingers is to press RT or X. Sometimes even B if the enemy is up close. ( Sorry for the PS3 users out there )

  • The online community is friendly, and great to play with ! Out of the hours I've spent into Black Ops and Modern Warfare 2, I've only met about, 20 or so friendly players. This is out of millions that play this game online, nearly every second game there is some kid yelling at you to get a life, while trying to get to the next prestige.

I'm not going to add more to this, seeing as if I did it would seem more like a blog post. Call of Duty isn't a bad game, not a bad game at all compared to some out there, but amazing ? No. So if you CoD players would like to address me on why I should actually think CoD is good, feel free.

Lucianu

CoD fanboys won't read that at all, and shall bash your thread, without proving you wrong or they are going to missinterpret everything, then eventually it'll be closed by a mod or forgotten in the pages of time.

Well, I'm stuck here at home for tonight. Might as well do something.

[QUOTE="Lucianu"]

[QUOTE="CallOfDutyXxX"] Don't act as if you don't like CoD, man. We know you love it deep inside. ;-)CallOfDutyXxX

I don't hate, or like the CoD series, i'm indiferent to the games, allthough i never prefered millitary games.

I hate what it is doing to the gaming industry, i hate how much Activision bribes journalists to make it seem like a AAA game, and i hate the fact that gamers are oblivious of what's going on which is blatantly in our faces. Like i said before, its the prime example of everything that is horribly wrong with this generation, this includes this obsession with console (huge crossair, casual, half a screen weapons, 'Michael Bay' campaigns, MP focus) first person shooters. Even XCOM is a first person shooter now thanks the ***storm the devs thought out (hey! If i make it like CoD, it'll sell! screw the fanbase).

So yeah, excuse me wile i not swallow up the fact that my favorite IPs are being destroyed.

So WAIT. You hate COD just because your favourite developers are completely unoriginal and have nothing better to do than to copy CoD's features? :lol: So aren't they to blame?

Mate, what's CoD's features? Points come up when you shoot someone online ? You can call in a spy plane ? :roll: Or is the campaign, where it's so easy and unrealistic a 10 year old can clock it. And by looking at your posts, it's what you probably are. Go back to yelling at people on Black Ops kid, not everybody loves the crappy game called CoD, face the fact.

[QUOTE="Kan0nF0dder"][QUOTE="eboyishere"]

i skimmed it....sounds like damage control from the mag, The hate has reached the media, interesting

CallOfDutyXxX

Read the whole thing, it is indeed DC from the mag...and being that it's OXM, that's not surprising at all. Good to see the hate from the internet hardcore finally filtering through to mainstream. Battlefield all the way baby!

Battlefield won't even sell 5 % of MW3, so stop dreaming kid.

I'm not sure you're old enough to count, but Battlefield 3 will sell a hellova lot more than 5%.

Tom Clancy's Endwar. It was only £5 but I just could not get it to run smoothly on my PC despite turning down all the settings.

SilverSignal

I got it with my 360. :P That was the day I learnt that the only way to play a stragety game, is on PC.

Get it. It's fun, and it's not even close to being dead yet.

lightleggy

you know the mag in MW3 could be held upside down...thats why you dont see a bullet in it

Watch the trailer again, it isn't upside down.

And yes, Battlefield 3 is superior. Why?

  • Better graphics, and I mean a hellova lot better, even Bad Company 2 looks better than MW3. :roll:
  • Engine is a lot more powerful, it can handle destructability and DICE actually takes the time to make their engine better.
  • Multiplayer actually requires team work, vehicles and large scale maps
  • Audio is so much better, nobody can argue with that, they didn't win awards for sound design for nothing.

And etc. I don't have a lot of time right now, but those are just some points.

I disagree with you there. It's good advertising, and it sure as hell can get you excited if done right.
