No offense to the folks over at Nintendo who have been responsible for quite a few of the greatest games all time, but after having experienced Banjo on XBLA, I think it would make a straight port of the original look vile in comparison.  

It wouldn't look vile. I still own the N64 version, and the graphics have held up a lot better than many other games for the system. Probably even its sequel, Banjo-Tooie, which is kind of strange. That said, I agree that the XBLA version looks much cleaner and I really hope they follow up with a re-release of Banjo-Tooie. *crosses fingers* 

Also, I'm ashamed of the PS3 base. Really, I am. I have more respect for the casual base that buys a squillion Wii's each month to play Deca Sports. At least they're buying it for games. I have no idea how the best game on the system EVER only sold 215,000 copies on launch month during the fall kickoff period. It's baffling. Never have I had more contempt for a userbase of a system. Sad.

 This has more to do with certain types of games not selling on the system because by and large its userbase considers themselves too cool to play cutesy platformers, and it's just as much of a problem with the Xbox audience. How is it any different than the way we'll see Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts for the 360 tank in sales for November, despite having a budget price tag and an awesome preorder bonus? Granted, LittleBigPlanet is probably at a higher level of quality. Still, it seems unfair to make it sound as if it's solely about PS3 owners when it's not.

Based on what I could tell from the trailer on XBL, it appears to be a remake as opposed to a straight port of the N64 game.

I got my preorder code from gamestop two days ago when I got Fallout 3, and it was quite comical given that the clerk totally understood that I was more excited about the XBLA game than the 360 title. HiResDes

Hah, same here. All I wanted to know before putting down for the pre-order was whether or not that download code for the XBLA game was included or not.
