Nope! I just hear Shane say it on a 1Up podcast (he's supposedly working on it with his wife who is a science fiction author). He hasnt revealed anything yet but i'm not averse to waiting, perfection takes time :)

Since when did the PSP owners all decide that 50 Cent Bulletproof was our idea of a mature game? Epic fail. More like these games...

And as far as paying that much money to do freakin' crossword puzzles is concerned. I can head to Borders and probably get more puzzles for my money. And actually keep things like doing math and crossword puzzles separate from gaming.

The point is that the DS is far more broadly appealing than the PSP which is aimed at liitle kids by Sony's own admission. Syphon Filter looks great though, i'm getting it for my PS2. I cant wait

MGS PO is supposed to have totally gimped controls though, i hope they make a PS2 version

I can see from your avatar as well that you're a fan of classics and old skool games so i'll make you a few recomendations when you get one . Warren Spector's apparently making a DS game as well so i'm sure you'll love that if you're a fan of Deus Ex

To be honest mate, the best time to get a DS is probably christmas. There's no harm in waiting for Zelda and Advance Wars 2 if you havent got one yet and the like of Ninja Gaiden,Contra 4, DQ9, the other SquareEnix games as well as many others should be released around that time.

Well and a lot has to do with the price. Some PSP games are 45 dollars IIRC. Thats just ridiculous for a portable game. Like I said in my original post, people who play handhelds arent generally looking for a console-level experience. They want quick, fun, different games than what they are used to on the big TV.

It wouldn't matter so much if they were worth it, but the games are just ports that already can already play on the PS2. And they're not even the best games from the PS2 like this trash

That's why the games sell so poorly, even the 12 year olds "Gangstas" who own the PSP aren't going to pay 45 bucks for that rubbish, and the poor little kids aren't smart enough to realise how much better the DS is.

WTF? DS is about 10 times better than the Wii.

Are you kidding? I have 15 DS games on a 1 gig SD micro card and with an accessory i bought on EBAY for 25 dollars, I can put the SD micro card in the DS and play the games perfectly with absolutely no modification to the DS at all. With PSP you have to downgrade firmware, use E-loaders and all sorts of ridiculous crap.

I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that the DS has exclusive original games as well. Not many people are dumb enough to pay again for watered down PS2 games they already own. Whereas with the DS you're generally getting something you couldn't get on other machines

You're less likely to pirate something if you feel it is worth the money, and the majority of the titles on the PSP are rubbish so not many people think it's worth the money. It's sad but true
