CoD is about as mindless and simple as any game could ever possibly get. That is why it's so popular. You pick up the controller, run around a small map and only have to push a few buttons somewhat fast and need minimal thought. That has made it a "juggernaut", which is pathetic because it says very little for the series hard core fans. Battlefield actually requires a bit of strategy, thought and coordination to play cause you have much more at your fingertips to compete with. CoD for 14 year olds and BF for adults.
I've played most of these games on my PS3 and 360 and honestly, I don't even see a difference. I don't pay that much attention. Whatever the difference is, it isn't enough to change how much you enjoy the game. I will say that Orange Box and COD 4 look better on PC than they don't on PS3 or 360, but that's a given.
