The bottom line is r2 gameplay just like r1 is generic

its nice that they added alot of content and the co op looks promising but thats about it

in terms of gameplay and actual multiplayer gears 2 is going to come out on top

Um, if you actually played the 60 player mode, you would know its very much tactical. You are put into squads and have a list of objectives, whereby you encounter other squads.

And again, its not like every game is 30 vs 30. Ranked games vary in number of players, as they did with the first one...

But the fact there's 30 enemies in the map makes it too easy to a person to kill you in your back.

And again, it's pretty much like Halo 3 and Cod4.

as i said before it was fun but a mindless type of fun

and if i really wanted to play a game with large scale battles i would go play battlefield or wait for huxley or even mag on the ps3

clearly you haven't played the beta for R2. it brings quantity WITH quality. i actually think it will be better since i didn't like the first gears much, but thats just preference i guess

Remember, quantity means absolutely nothing. If that was the case, then SR2 would've outscored GTA IV. It's nice to have a lot of stuff packed in, but that usually comes at a price, especially when you have a dev like Insomniac which has rather short development cycles for their games. R&C: ToD got hammered, and that's because it was really just more of the same. I think R2 will still be AAA, but I wouldn't go around bashing G2 while hyping this.fakecliche

Its still pretty much a blast whatever moves multiplayer

its mindless fun i wont deny that but thats as far as it goes

a game that requires virtually no skill or tactics

quality beats quantity

and i suggest you learn a bit more about gears 2 before you start comparing inferior quality products to it

You obviously don't know anything about the Resistance series or the sequel. Saying the gameplay hasn't changed is ridiculous. Because the first one had class-based co-op, right? Since you didn't play it, I'll give you the answer: it didn't. Speaking of that did Resistance 1 have anything like the Leviathan? Again, no it didn't.

OOOHH Gears finally has a CTF mode? Really? Thats cool, Resistance 1 had CTF and Resistance 2 has CTF. Resistance 1 had more game modes than Gears 1 and the 2nd one has more game modes than Gears 2. Gears is in no way a deeper game, none. Outside of the graphics, it does nothing better. Its that simple.

Not only graphics but also in uniqueness in gameplay and how fun it is. R2 is another generic FPS.

Everyone that dislikes Resistance says its generic. WHATS GENERIC ABOUT IT? The story? The enemies? The levels? The weapons? Nothing about the frigging game is generic. Thats a vague insult people throw out to describe the game when they haven't played it.

Because it will. Outside of graphics, Gears 2 does nothing better than Resistance 2. And its nowhere near as deep. What is Gears 2 bringing to the table? Outside of Horde mode, nothing new. Compare that to Resistance 2.

You can cry about how it doesn't matter that Resistance 2 has more players and whatnot. Thats irrelevant. Its got more game modes/types. Its got 2 separate campaigns. Its got friggin level based co-op that changes depending on your level.

Gears has horde mode and a promise from the developers that the game breaking glitches from the first one will be fixed in the sequel. Thats great. IG fixed Resistance's glitches on a monthly basis, when the game was in its prime...
