With all of the hype of Far Cry 3 being so demanding I have been wondering if I can max it out myself? Rig specs in my sig.

no you cant max it, you can still run very high and it will look beautiful though.

Mate of mine is building a rig. What's the cheapest rig that will run BF3 and Metro 2033 at maxed settings (by maxed I mean no setting spared, everything fully turned up), at 1680 x 1050, at a constant 30+ fps?

Would a 3570K (overclocked as far as possible on an H100i), 16GB of RAM and a 670 (overclocked as far as possible) do it?

yes this will work, my rig will do it and my cpu is weakest link so with an ivy and at a lower resolution that i run you can definatley do it.

there is no demo so torrent it to find out, if you like buy.

If you're looking for better game performance, ditch the SLI 450's and go for an AMD 7970, or if you want to stick with Nvidia and can deal with a slightly worse value go with the GTX 670. If you want faster boot times and snappier load times then replace your mechanical HDD with a SSD.General_X

+1 get a 7970 and dont look back, if you wanna squeeze every drop of performance buy a $20 212+ coolermaster cooler and OC your CPU.

Its not officially released on PC until December 18th (PS3 on December 11th...Grrrrr). They always seem to have some servers up and a few people playing before the actual release...I'm assuming they are developers or testers of some kinda.lockjaw333

agreed the 650 is really holding you back, the cpu could really use an OC but if you cant then I agree replace it. GW2 is especially CPU heavy. >4GB of ram is also nice and all but do not expect that to really be upping your frames, people get excited by more ram idk why its cheap for a reason.

Also is it ok to use a 37' Samsung HDTV with a PC? Game mode enabled.. will it be worth it compared to a 360/PS3? :)

this will all work fine, I use my pc connected to my tv for gaming. I reccomend getting the microsoft wireless gaming reciever so you can sit back and use a 360 controller while gaming. you can get em < $10 on ebay and they work great.

I'm hopefully getting a new, larger SSD for Christmas this year. However, I need help (and by help, I mean step by step instructions) on how to do this using my new SSD, an external enclosure, and Win7 Backup & Recovery/the Acronis free trial.

Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated!
