Is your mother a liberal? Just ask her that question straight up. If the answer is yes, ignore all advice she gives you when it pertains to the military and do some research so recruiters can't BS you. After law I'm joining the military! I just have a degree for lulz and I know office work is not for me.

I think shes a registered independent. Shes generally more conservative I guess(she voted for mccain, etc)

Ok, but go through college first so you can get an officer position, if you really can't stand schooling then don't bother, you will just waste money.

I really dont want to have to go to all that ROTC stuff while in college. And I wanna go to college, the idea actually sounds fun, learning the stuff you want

[QUOTE="sSubZerOo"]I think its much better idea to go to college first.. Graduate.. Then join the military.. kidsmelly

Actually yeah go with this much better to be an officer than an enlisted person. Look for ROTC programs in the college.

When I go to college I really dont want to be involved in that..that would just be a hassle. Id much rather just do the military first

I HATE that sterotype, that only losers who don't graduate go to the military and that they have no ambition in life. That's the dumbest thing I have ever heard. The military is a great idea. It will help you pay for college, it gives you the opportunity to travle the world, get experience. People want to hire you more after you have been in the military. herpderp9000
Yes, all these reasons are great except my mom keeps saying how i wont be in debt because apparently my parents+grandparents have some college insurance so I wont end up paying a dime. Good for me, bad for my military idea

IM a junior in highschool now and I just told my mom I might want to join the military after highschool before college. She thinks this is stupid because Ill be with a bunch of people with no ambition in life and that the college experience wont be the same because Ill be with kids 4 years younger than me. Any info, insight? thanks

College isn't just for the young. There are plenty of people who go later in life. Hell, many companies will pay for it.

Also, no ambition in life?

Yes, that is what I try to tell her but she doesnt listen. She is actually pretty ignorant on some things tbh

The sheer satisfaction of destroying someone. When you kill another play in COD, you killed him and he died because of you. that is satisfaction. its not the fact that we are killing, more just the sheer satisfaction
