@Necrotron This. A Eve player had to review this game to really do it justice. It's sad to see the link to Eve is so poorly done that its practically a skin. I was really hoping this game would pull it off, and open the door for more series to similarly expand universes into intertwining titles in various genres.

@fast2ghl Unfortunately, that just isn't the Japanese's way of doing things. As a culture, they refine things until it is perfected, and that has been GT's downfall this generation. They meticulously refined things to be the best they could be, but missed the overall big picture.


What makes it so bad, however, is that PD acknowledged a lot of the problems and fan gripes, and did nothing to fix them. Standard cars? sill there. Dated sound? Still there. Ported old tracks? There's even MORE now. PD has been on this straight line for a while, and I think it's more or less reached it's limit. The problem is, I really cant' see them attempting to start fresh, but that doesn't mean it's hopeless.


There is still hope for a true next gen game with GT7 without a complete refresh as long as someone finally tries to control Yamauchi to some extent. While I respect the amount of faith Sony has shown in the man, and their patience with him, something has got to give.Think of any other of your beloved series', and imagine them pulling the same crap. Imagine if MGS1 snake wasn't just an easteregg, but an actual full blown feature in MGS5. Imagine MGS3 enemy models being scattered in levels. Imagine if Mario Kart ported over Mario Kart 64 tracks, textures and all, in a Wii U Kart game. It isn't giving us more, it's being lazy.


Gran Turismo is their flagship title, period. No other series has survived every generation of Playstation consoles. They can't afford a 3rd half hearted effort. If they don't recognize their problems and bring the same crap to GT7 on the PS4, then I would hope all of the series' fans just let it go. There is no sense in supporting a developer that doesn't care about the quality of what they release.

@mapulaproasta @ZoTrAcK While that's true, crashes happen, and the lack of good crash physics and car damage does kind of ruin the simulation. People arguing that car damage would lead to idiots just trying to crash in MP races are also off the mark. That's all idiots do even without the car damage.

@EmperorSupreme While the glut of content is nice, a negative is a negative. Sacrificing quality for quantity has long been criticized in every industry, and GT shouldn't be exempt from that. It's up to you to decide if it matters to you, but any reviewer that wants to consider their integrity has to note the existence of dated models in a modern game.

@vl4d_l3nin I doubt that will ever happen.When it comes to fast access to the race cars, that's what arcade was for. Career mode has always been about the grind, but maybe it's about time PD took a look at it and revamped to better represent an actual racing career.

@bollox2ya @CPTCUDDLES @Suharar No, just no. You can rip CoD Ghosts being choppy on PS4, because it's true, but do not try to claim it's 720p. It's been weeks since the official announcement that it runs at 1080p native on PS4. As for it being choppy if you downscale it to 720p, that's because I don't think the games/consoles are programmed to efficiently use the extra processing that's freed up. I never ever noticed any performance boost, or stuttering fix, when playing the few true 1080p games on 360/ps3 in 720p.
