Western RPGs just generally suck, especially when it comes to story and music, two things which are bigger in RPGs than any other genre.

Final Fantasy XIII is going to be so damn amazing. I expect Squenix to get the story right on this one. The entry game into the console has always been amazing and arguably the best of itl's gen(FFIV,FFVII,FFX) I expect it to be the same with FFXIII.

I don't know about better , but God of War II would be deserving of any awards imo.

There would be a lot of complaints like ......."how could a 9.2 game beat out a 9.5 game for GOTY ? " and " how could a last gen game compete with next-gen games " ....... I hope a lot ofsites (including Gamepot) don't forget about it.

God of War II though is seriously the closest thing you have to next gen on a last gen console. It still came out this year though and deserves respect.

lol at the cow. just step down man. GoW2 is a great game, and WOULD be a GOTY contender in a world without mass effect, SMG, crysis, halo, assassins creed, CoD4, bioshock... need i go on?

Dynasty Warriors is extremely popular in Japan and was released the same day aas the 40GB PS3.

And it does have decent games actually, but yea games like MGS, GT5, etc. will dominate.

White KNight Story is out next mnth so that should be good.
