[QUOTE="Out_Kast3000"][QUOTE="Pajamasalad"]Bungie made a game called Halo 3, it is the most profitable entertainment product ever.
Blizzard made World of Warcraft. It has 9 million subscribers.
Japan isn't the only country that can make popular games.

Failure.
I never said that Japan is the only country with popular games, but it doesn't change the fact that a majority of popular games are Japanese.
Halo 3 is the most profitable entertainment product ever??? LOL???
i think he jumped the gun with that comment, but from a videogame standpoint it has no equal.IT achieved a hype never seen before. its sales hurt the sales of movie theatres. THe game actually lived up to its insane hype and did an amazing job in sales as well even pushing the 360 sales higher than the wii for a month. IT was a top seller in Japan for a week.(for a shooter in Japan thats HUGE!!!!!!!!)
Plain and simple IT was very productive, it sold a ton, its gonna keep selling a ton, and its well insanly profitable. Oh and they had a slurpee cup. Bad Slurpee flavor. But the cup was cool
THe last part doesnt really matter, i just felt like throwing it in there.
ya, fail
Just becuase Microsoft decided to market it as if it was a movie doesn't mean it was bigger than Spiderman 3 or Shrek.Halo 3's sales are inflated compared to movies just for the fact that Halo 3 was being sold for 60,70,120 dollars. THe Average Movie ticket is 10. It didn't hurt sales of movies, millions upon millions of more people still went to go see Spiderman 3 over buying Halo 3.
It never topped the charts in Japan. And it did not live up to hype, quite overrated actually.
You can actually go back 9 or 10 years ago and games like Final Fantasy VIII which sold more in Japan alone it's first few days, than Halo 3 did in it's first week worldwide.
