[QUOTE="kaealy"] Grind to win implies that someone that plays more wins by someother mean then the experince it most likely brings, which isn't true at all. Half of the heroes that gets banned in ranked or PRO matches are either free or dirty cheap and can be bought playing a few games. There's no play or grind to win, stop being dense. I don't get how people expect the same amount of content from F2P games that they get from game that you have to dish out 60 bucks for. mr_zombie60

Having more stats due to talents and runes isnt grind to win? HOKAY. Your last sentance... I dunno, HoN gives you access to all the characters after hitting level 4, and there is no stupid stat imbalance.

You generally play people around the same level.. so even if someone was a few levels apart the difference would be negligible. And by the time you're level 30 everyone has at least one complete rune page and the contention comes down to skill. As a player since beta, I know for sure that masteries and runes don't make the player.

Still doesnt change the fact that different people have different stats therefore the core game is effected by an uncompetitive rock/paper/scissors, ofcourse replace that with attack, defence or ability. depending on the character setups it can cause some decent imbalance that can change the outcome of games. Casual RPG grinders accept that.... but its not what the dota games were loved for originally, its a mindless way of keeping people addicted. HoN now easily exceeds 100k-120k players on a decent day without any of that... and is very profitable without paying to unlock the majority of characters. There is no reason I should lose a calculated fight based on what some guy has chosen OUTSIDE of that match. its poor competitive spirit. No im not blaming it for loss, im pointing out the flaw in the system. You can provide anecedotal "stats dont make the player" when in reality the game is all about stats, each point counts.

Its not at all pay to win.. In fact the new champs they release are free for a week the week after they're released.. Good thing we can automatically discredit the opinions of others whom bash LoL when they claim its pay2win.

Its not pay to win as such, its grind to win though.... how you can argue otherwise would be beyond me. why should I grind for ages just to try new heroes? why when I get use to some heroes I then cant choose them without buying a week later?... why are there stupid needless talent trees and unlocks. oh right, to aim at the WoW grind lovers crowd over balance and competitive spirit.

My post. Bask in its glory.

Trials HD better than Forza?heretrix

Hmm good point, it's not hard to be better than Borza, shoudl have used an example like PGR or something.

Bad mainstream games are bad. SMG 2 is worse than VVVVVVVVVVVVV in everyway possible lol at nintendos budget.

None. I started with something like 70 hours into Demigod before the broken online killed my interest. Then, I played HoN for close to 800 hours before getting annoyed at the community. Next up was 300ish hours into League of Legends before getting tired of a combination of the community and the pay to win mentality (these kinds of games need an option to drop a reasonable amount of money and get everything but the cosmetic crap). Played about 5 hours of DotA 2 before quitting since I didn't feel like learning the heroes.

LoL is 100% not pay to win. A ton of good (some of the best) champs are the cheapest ones that you can unlock for free if you play like 5 games. Plus some of the really expensive champs are on a free weekly rotation. I've played about 500 games and didn't spend a penny on the game for the longest time. I'd unlocked a bunch of champs and runes just by playing and was able to win most of my games. I finally spent about 25 bucks on some extra champs and skins just because I could, but money never gave me an edge. The only way you could argue that there is a pay to win aspect is through ip boosts that will let you buy more powerful runes faster. The thing with that though, is you can't even use them until you play a bunch of games and hit level 30. I have all the runes I'll ever need and I didn't spend any money getting them. So please explain, how is LoL pay to win?

Lol.... all the problems you mentioned in HoN are now non existant. And you say valves servers are better? youve got to be kidding me, at least HoNs MMR system is competant, they actually update at a decent speed... and there are far less noobs ruining every game you play. DoTA2 is visually amazing and has great potential ... but considering its VALVE they are soooooo slow. no vote system is epic fail aswell. I bounce between dota 2 and hon

Icefrog has his head stuck up his ass. still no fix for blinkstaff on heroes like pudge?

I don't know if I expect much from D3 actually. D2 is one of my all time favorites, but other devs have gotten quite good at ripping it off over the last decade and I don't see anything stand out from D3. At this point it could be overshadowed by it's clones.

darkmoney52
What good clones are there? Titans Quest was average, Torchlight was an incredible dumbed down experiance. What are you basing that statement on.
